The Community Technology Centers' Network (CTCNet) is a national membership network of community technology centers (CTCs) and other non-profits, united in their commitment to provide technology access and education to underserved communities. CTCNet works through the CTC Network to provide resources and advocacy to improve the quality and sustainability of CTCs.

Cybersafety expert and Internet Law Attorney, Nancy Willard, has some ideas for schools as they develop and adapt safety strategies to address Web 2.0. She also offers some questions that school staff can discuss to assess and improve the manner in which they are addressing these issues in their building:

Fabulous School Assembly Program! Although the team is based in the San Francisco Bay Area, they travel and give presentations nationwide. They bring a sense of balance to all of the predator-based talks given by law enforcement. The creators of this project are graduates of Stanford's Learning, Design & Technology program and also have a background in film making. They have won numerous awards at local, national and international film festivals for their work and were a huge hit at the California League of Middle Schools Conference, last Fall.

What kids don't realize is that trading nude photos by cell phone (another form of cyberbullying) comes under the laws of child pornography. If prosecuted to the full extent of the law, they could end up in juvenile hall and/or have to register as a sex offender for the rest of their lives! As tales of online cruelty mount, districts are trying a mix of prevention and punishment, incorporating internet safety into curriculum and tightening student conduct codes.Whether a pattern or merely an unfortunate streak, what's not disputed is the direction of the general drift in cyberbullying cases: upward. Once relegated to the playgrounds and back lots, the schoolyard bully now finds prey online. While the states are responding to cyberbullying by adopting legislation that mixes prevention with punishment, for school districts the issue quickly turns from educating the community about the threat of cyberbullying to crafting a response when an incident actually occurs. Districts are realizing that integrating internet safety education into curriculum isn't enough. They must also address cyberbullying in their conduct and discipline codes.

Workshop materials here were designed to teach school leaders about social networking. There are both Trainer agendas and Workshop participant agendas here so that educators could easily use the materials to train others.
