This website is a free social networking site that allows teachers and students to engage in collaborative projects and learning assignments with others from around the world. Teachers can set up virtual classrooms and grant their students monitored e-mail accounts, with parental permission of course, in order for them to interact with other students from all over the globe. For instance, while studying about the rain forest the class may connect with another classroom that lives in the rain forest. This website also allows the teacher to involve parents in the process of learning by adding them to the class network. Parents can monitor their child's academic progress and also receive the classroom newsletter. One aspect about the website that is extremely helpful is the translation tool. This allows teachers the opportunity to have conversations with parents in their native language.

Mimio is a company that makes interactive technologies for the classroom. The interactive whiteboard is similar to a smartboard except it just attaches to the teachers exisiting whiteboard magnetically. Students or teachers can use the pens to write on the board and control the computer screen by using the whiteboard. Mimio also makes a reading tutorial called MimioSprout. This helps children from kindergarten to second grade with reading. This website meets standard 6.1 because it allows students to use interactive technology in the classroom. It also allows students to further their education while playing games and doing activities on Mimio Sprout. The white board would allow teachers to use technology in a positive way to have students interact during a lesson instead of just listening to the teacher. With the interactive white board, students can get up and interact with the teacher and their peers.

Wordle is a toy for generating "word clouds" from text that you provide. The clouds give greater prominence to words that appear more frequently in the source text. You can tweak your clouds with different fonts, layouts, and color schemes. The images you create with Wordle are yours to use however you like.

This website also provides teachers with access to lesson plans and teaching tips on how to teach students, Teachers also get access to information about the importance and saftey of internet access and different ways to include instructional technology into the classroom such as YouTube.Gamequarium is an educational website that supplements the instruction of both teachers and students via hands-on technology.

This website has important information and tips for teachers and parents to keep kids protected while they are surfing the web. I chose this site because of its awareness on how to properly teach kids how to surf the web. This website discusses the importance of parents/teachers communicating with children to make sure that they understand the rules and laws of surfing the web.The site also discusses cyberbulling and the signs to recognize if children are being abused online. The site has other important links and websites that can be utilized.

This website describes cyber ethics and some of the legal/ethical issues revolving around the use of technology , at the same time, advocating proper use of the legal policies. It has a lot of helpful links for parents, educators, communities, the youth, and more!

ABC ya! is a great website to incorporate technology in your classroom. This website includes fun games and enrichment activities for Elementary schools Kindergarten through fifth grade. After a student has completed their assignment, they can log on to this site and do grade based activities that are fun and educational. All of these games are free to play.

All children's educational computer activities were created or approved by certified school teachers. All educational games are free and are modeled from primary grade lessons and enhanced to provide an interactive way for children to learn.

ABCYa.com is an interactive children's website, loaded with fun games and activities to help children learn and practice reading, math, grammar, spelling, history, geography and more. This site is free and there are tons of games to choose from, and you choose the grade level to play them at. At the end of each game the easy to read results give you a clear understanding of how you did in the game and where you need more practice at. I will be introducing this site to my own children, and will incorporate it into my classroom for my students as well. I highly recommend this site.

The NAEA is great website that expands your knowledge about an art education career and a great example of the standard 6.4: Candidates use technology in their own learning process and to change their current educational practice. It provides learning opportunities for current and future art educators to expand their knowledge and to better their classroom. The community part of the website allows art educators from all over the USA to share ideas and strategies for their classroom. There are also grants and opportunities for students and teachers to earn money or more knowledge about art education. The learning tab gives lesson plan ideas. Last, the best part about this website is that it helps you start your career by finding a job.  

This website, Freerice.com, is a useful tool for teachers to use to reinforce some knowledge that may be learned in class, to provide a source of edutainment, and to provide students with the recognition that they live in a global community with people less fortunate. The site allows for you to copy and paste free banners to your own personal website or blog. A link could also be saved to the site on a classroom computer, allowing students to use the site as a means to reinforce a skill or to reward a student for good behavior. The site does adhere to the standard 6.9 by the permission allowed to educators by the "Fair Use" doctrine.

This is a very informative site that offers a great deal of information concerning the safety of internet usage in the classroom. As I searched through the site, I noticed that there was an abundance of web resources, product info and reviews, lesson plans and more. The standard for this site is 6.9. The purpose of this standard is to make teachers aware of the legalities and ethical usage of technology in the classroom. I feel that this is a resourceful site for all teachers.

Outline Your Classroom Floor Plan For students, the classroom environment is very important. The size of the classroom and interior areas, the colors of the walls, the type of furniture and flooring, the amount of light, and the room arrangement all influence how students learn.

This website is full of information regarding the proper usage of technology for children. Children use social technology on a daily basis for communication, homework projects, surfing the web, and etc. I chose this website because it displays the rights and the responsibilities of minors and the importance of protecting them while they are surfing the web. As teachers we want our students to make good choices when it comes to the use of technology. This website include other links such as "Stop Cyberbullying" that can be used to teach young people about internet safety.

As a part of Standard 6.8, this is an emerging technology. To download your newspaper, use the link at the bottom of the generated image. You can use the images as you wish ie. put them on your own website or blog. Please note, that direct linking to the newspaper clippings doesn't work; the images are deleted from the server after a short time span.

Standard 6.7 This site is one for any grade level of teaching. It has compiled thousands of free worksheets that are relevant in k-12 Education. It is in its early stages of organizing all of the sites within the database, but it has managed to keep a very clear license agreement making all of the worksheets and resources that are found on the site Free of Charge!!! I chose Microsoft Mouse Mischief because it is interactive. It allows the teacher and students to interact with the lesson and eachother and makes learning fun and easy. There is something for teacher and student. It is a program that allows teachers to make PowerPoints interactive by asking question and with wireless mouses students select answers. It also shows the teacher which students or groups of students answered correctly or incorrectly. My standard is 6.1, which states that candidates intergrate instructional technology to facilitate learning in the classroom to supplement instructional strategies, to design instructional materials, and to enhance hands-on expierences and problem solving. I believe that this program is great for this standard. It is hands-on, interactive, uses technology, and ask the students for problem solving and quick thinking. Famundo.com is a free website where a teacher can go in and make a class calender. The teacher can then invite the students and teachers to join so that they will be able to view the calender. This is a very good website for a teacher to use to communicate with the students and their parents. The parents and students can log in anytime they want to check the upcoming assignments or activities that the teacher has placed on the calender.

With the popularity of Facebook and the ability to connect to it from iPads to desktops, it only makes sense to use it for a classroom communication tool. I did a quick search for classrooms, and specifically special education classrooms on Facebook and found numerous pages from all over the world. By using a Facebook page for the class, parents can see what the days lessons were as well as homework and pictures of the day or week. Messages can also be sent to the entire group or individuals as well as other teachers in the department.

This website has IXL Improvement Reporting on it. When your students are working on the computer "playing games" you will be able to with the click of the mouse view any of the 37 IXL reports. These reports will give you the information that you will need to help your students to be the best that they can be. It will show you their strengths and also show you their trouble spots. All of this information will allow you to show the student what he or she need to work on over the school year.

Excellent site demonstrating elementary school science experiments. Experiments are age and grade appropriate and entertaining. The site also provides sources for acquiring the supplies needed to conduct the experiments along with simple but detailed instructions. It will also provide the teacher or the students with the significance of the experiment giving the whole experience a higher interest factor.
