Coursecracker.com is a very useful website for teachers to use in order to stay connected with students, parents, and other teachers. This website allows teachers to set up a class page. They can then post assignments on there for students to access in case a student misses class. Teachers can have a calendar on the class page which can help students keep up with when their assignments are due. Teachers can also send notifications to parents and students through email. Teachers can also talk to other teachers to discuss different topics. The standard for this website is Standard 6.6 which deals with using technology to effectively communicate with students, parents, and colleagues.

Do you want a fun way to mold a student's brain with through some fundamental creative games? These games deal with basics of poetry,sentence structure, and reading skills for grades k-2. If you ever had some extra time at the end of class or during an "inside recess day," these would be something the students would enjoy. My standard for this website is standard 6.1. I felt like this website met the standards of 6.1. This is a great resource for teachers and parents who are teaching math or science. There are a variety of lesson plans as well as interactive "gizmos" that will help students learn. Students can do the interactive portion and then be asked to complete the lesson plan. It's such a helpful site that will benefit the students and teachers.

Mimio is a company that makes interactive technologies for the classroom. The interactive whiteboard is similar to a smartboard except it just attaches to the teachers exisiting whiteboard magnetically. Students or teachers can use the pens to write on the board and control the computer screen by using the whiteboard. Mimio also makes a reading tutorial called MimioSprout. This helps children from kindergarten to second grade with reading. This website meets standard 6.1 because it allows students to use interactive technology in the classroom. It also allows students to further their education while playing games and doing activities on Mimio Sprout. The white board would allow teachers to use technology in a positive way to have students interact during a lesson instead of just listening to the teacher. With the interactive white board, students can get up and interact with the teacher and their peers.

Mentormob is a project sharing website that shares learning playlist. Each learning playlist contains great tools, websites, and information for that particular topic. Mentormob is great for educators because they can learn from others playlists' and get new ideas. Teachers can also create a playlist of their own to teach lessons to their students. This website is an excellent way to effectively use technology in the classroom.

I chose this website because I think it is a great tool for students, teachers, and parents. It collects all recent and popular sites that are useful to a range of people. I found it very neat to be able to go to one site to find what is new and current, so it would make it easy to stay familiar with new websites of today. It meets standard 6.4 because I think this will help teachers and students change their current educational practice or just use this as additional material.
