Do you want a fun way to mold a student's brain with through some fundamental creative games? These games deal with basics of poetry,sentence structure, and reading skills for grades k-2. If you ever had some extra time at the end of class or during an "inside recess day," these would be something the students would enjoy. My standard for this website is standard 6.1. The point of this standard is to to bring interactive technologies and hands on experiences into the classroom.This website is a good example for the standard 6.1 for primary reading and english teachers.

This is a great website with many fun games. It addresses standard 6.1 because students can get hands on experience through playing the many games. It has virtually every subject and has various levels from beginner to expert. 6.1 Candidates integrate instructional technology to facilitate learning in their classrooms, to supplement instructional strategies, to design instructional materials, and to enhance hands-on experiences and problem solving.

Teacher scholastic provides many activities for any grade level and subject area. This applies to standard 6.1 because it allows teachers and students to use technology in the classroom to do different activities and/or practice what they are learning so they can learn the material better and the teacher can teach it more efficiently.

Mimio is a company that makes interactive technologies for the classroom. The interactive whiteboard is similar to a smartboard except it just attaches to the teachers exisiting whiteboard magnetically. Students or teachers can use the pens to write on the board and control the computer screen by using the whiteboard. Mimio also makes a reading tutorial called MimioSprout. This helps children from kindergarten to second grade with reading. This website meets standard 6.1 because it allows students to use interactive technology in the classroom. It also allows students to further their education while playing games and doing activities on Mimio Sprout. The white board would allow teachers to use technology in a positive way to have students interact during a lesson instead of just listening to the teacher. With the interactive white board, students can get up and interact with the teacher and their peers.

Lessoncast is something I have never heard of before, but seems very useful to teachers. It is an interactive site that teachers use to get and share ideas. It has a blog, and all kinds of lessoncasts that teachers can use. A lessoncast is a short video elaborating on new ideas for different lessons.

Kidsknowit.com is a great educational tool for both teachers and students. This web site is completely free and full of amazing resources. This internet tool contains subject specific songs,games,articles, stories, and teaching aides such as classroom posters and worksheets

This Youtube channel mixes modern songs and historical events, making tricky subjects, such as the French Revolution, into a catchy, memorable study tool. Teachers can meet standard 6.1 by incorporating these songs as a type of instructional technology to help facilitate learning in the classroom.

This is a free site that teachers can use with their student's for every subject. It provides hands on lessons, games, and even generate graphs and charts in mathematics. Many students how have posted about this website have said it has the best games out of the educational websites. Check it out!!!

I chose Microsoft Mouse Mischief because it is interactive. It allows the teacher and students to interact with the lesson and eachother and makes learning fun and easy. There is something for teacher and student. It is a program that allows teachers to make PowerPoints interactive by asking question and with wireless mouses students select answers. It also shows the teacher which students or groups of students answered correctly or incorrectly. My standard is 6.1, which states that candidates intergrate instructional technology to facilitate learning in the classroom to supplement instructional strategies, to design instructional materials, and to enhance hands-on expierences and problem solving. I believe that this program is great for this standard. It is hands-on, interactive, uses technology, and ask the students for problem solving and quick thinking. This website goes along with Standard 6.1 by providing teachers with multiple ways to enhance their classroom. There are free worksheets to print out, many links to other websites to get educational material, educational games, and more. It has lesson plan ideas sorted by subject area and even emergency lessons for substitutes to keep students engaged. As a beginning professional, you can look at tips on how to write a lesson plan and improve it as well.

If knowledge was power this site would be invincible. With countless free lesson plans, activities, and games for both students and teachers this site has it all while adhering to standard 6.1.

Teachnology.com is a teacher's resource site that offers educational and instructional tools for teachers. This site reflects Standard 6.5, because this site features research in educational topics and teacher development, student and teacher safe search engines, information in educational technology, teacher newsletters, and teacher forums that allow teachers to communicate on updates and ideas in the educational world. Teachnology.com also offers classroom resources such as lessonplans, worksheets, templates for graphic organizers, and rubrics that can be used in the class.

This site is a very good one for Standard 6.1 because it not only provides a variety of games and practice for enhanced learning, but it also includes ideas for how teachers can include the games in their lesson plans to explain new concepts and to review previous material. The site is very easy to navigate -- with good graphics and interactive components and a variety of games and teaching suggestions for all subject areas.

Standard 6.2 Great games and lessons for kids!

SheppardSoftware is a great resource for children to enhance their learning. There are many games in many different subjects that will get students involved in figuring out different topics. There is even a small section of games for adults to use to enhance their knowledge.
