This is a really neat website. A teacher, student, or parent can sign up for free. For teachers, it is a good way to communicate things to your students or get advice from other educators. For students, they are able to view their homework and assignments and they are also able to communicate and meet new students with the same interests. For parents, they are able to view important bulletins from teachers and see upcoming events. This is a great website for everyone!

This website contains an electronic note keeper and organizer called Evernote that can be downloaded onto a computer, iPhone, iPad, tablet, or any Android device. Evernote has many features that help keep notes organized. It is great for teachers to make lesson plans, store handouts, and upload grades to. Students can use Evernote to upload their notes onto multiple devices, which will minimize the accumulation of paper over time and to make flashcards. Evernote has a search feature that allows you to search for any notes or documents you have uploaded onto the program. This is a wonderful tool, especially for teachers and students to stay organized which is important during the teaching and learning process. Evernote can be downloaded for free but there is a premium option that can be downloaded for a low price.

Microsoft Mouse Mischief - Interactive PowerPoints - 3 views

I chose Microsoft Mouse Mischief because it is interactive. It allows the teacher and students to interact with the lesson and eachother and makes learning fun and easy. There is something for teacher and student. It is a program that allows teachers to make PowerPoints interactive by asking question and with wireless mouses students select answers. It also shows the teacher which students or groups of students answered correctly or incorrectly. My standard is 6.1, which states that candidates intergrate instructional technology to facilitate learning in the classroom to supplement instructional strategies, to design instructional materials, and to enhance hands-on expierences and problem solving. I believe that this program is great for this standard. It is hands-on, interactive, uses technology, and ask the students for problem solving and quick thinking. The URL above will take you to Microsoft Mouse Mischief where you can download mouse mischief for free, it is compatable with Microsoft PowerPoint 2007 or 2010. The link I am listing below will also take you to the Microsoft website above for mouse mischief but this website has a video that shows you a little about mouse mischief. http://shellyterrell.com/2010/05/21/a-new-way-to-make-powerpoints-interactive/

This link is for an excellent, free database for teachers to search or find literature appropriate to their students at different levels of the DRA (Developmental Reading Assessment). You can search for a specific book, or use the database to configure an appropriate list for your grade and DRA level. The website as a whole offers many other great features for educators as well, such as lesson plans and science projects. The database in itself however is a fun place to start when working with your own personal classroom library to the extent that you can be linked to Amazon to purchase a copy if you so wish.
