Coursecracker.com is a very useful website for teachers to use in order to stay connected with students, parents, and other teachers. This website allows teachers to set up a class page. They can then post assignments on there for students to access in case a student misses class. Teachers can have a calendar on the class page which can help students keep up with when their assignments are due. Teachers can also send notifications to parents and students through email. Teachers can also talk to other teachers to discuss different topics. The standard for this website is Standard 6.6 which deals with using technology to effectively communicate with students, parents, and colleagues.

Gamequarium is an online interactive website with games and worksheets to supplement the instructional strategies that the students learned in class. This website also provides teachers with access to lesson plans and teaching tips on how to teach students, Teachers also get access to information about the importance and saftey of internet access and different ways to include instructional technology into the classroom such as YouTube.Gamequarium is an educational website that supplements the instruction of both teachers and students via hands-on technology.

This website is a free social networking site that allows teachers and students to engage in collaborative projects and learning assignments with others from around the world. Teachers can set up virtual classrooms and grant their students monitored e-mail accounts, with parental permission of course, in order for them to interact with other students from all over the globe. For instance, while studying about the rain forest the class may connect with another classroom that lives in the rain forest. This website also allows the teacher to involve parents in the process of learning by adding them to the class network. Parents can monitor their child's academic progress and also receive the classroom newsletter. One aspect about the website that is extremely helpful is the translation tool. This allows teachers the opportunity to have conversations with parents in their native language.

My favorite subject is math so I choose this website so teachers could explore fun games to let the students interact with. The website can also link up with other websites to get more fun math games. They have printable worksheets and much more. I like it because some parts are free, however some links cost money. Even though some of it did cost money I feel as a future teacher it will be well worth the money to be a member of some of the educational sites avaliable.

This is a website that gives Teachers the opportunity to stay in contact with their students parents as well as the students through creating their on message boards that include things such as upcoming events, attendance, homework assignments, posting daily notes, but a teacher could put just about anything they want on their board. This website I believe could be a huge help with parents who like to keep up with what their children are doing in the classroom, and with this site the teacher can keep everyone informed at all times because their eBoard can be updated everyday.

EditGrid is a free web-based online spreadsheet which allows you to create and share spreadsheets documents. You can collaborate with your team, publish your spreadsheets and even power them with external data. This really goes along with what we talked about in class this past time. It is very user friendly and would be great if you needed to work on a spreadsheet with someone else.

Mimio is a company that makes interactive technologies for the classroom. The interactive whiteboard is similar to a smartboard except it just attaches to the teachers exisiting whiteboard magnetically. Students or teachers can use the pens to write on the board and control the computer screen by using the whiteboard. Mimio also makes a reading tutorial called MimioSprout. This helps children from kindergarten to second grade with reading. This website meets standard 6.1 because it allows students to use interactive technology in the classroom. It also allows students to further their education while playing games and doing activities on Mimio Sprout. The white board would allow teachers to use technology in a positive way to have students interact during a lesson instead of just listening to the teacher. With the interactive white board, students can get up and interact with the teacher and their peers.

Standard 6.7 This site is one for any grade level of teaching. It has compiled thousands of free worksheets that are relevant in k-12 Education. It is in its early stages of organizing all of the sites within the database, but it has managed to keep a very clear license agreement making all of the worksheets and resources that are found on the site Free of Charge!!! New ideas, games, worksheets, and quiz material are all easily found with a user friendly navigation of the site, and the material is in PDF format, as well as Doc. format, therefore it is easy to find any material that can be used for lessons year round. I chose Microsoft Mouse Mischief because it is interactive. It allows the teacher and students to interact with the lesson and eachother and makes learning fun and easy. There is something for teacher and student. It is a program that allows teachers to make PowerPoints interactive by asking question and with wireless mouses students select answers. It also shows the teacher which students or groups of students answered correctly or incorrectly. My standard is 6.1, which states that candidates intergrate instructional technology to facilitate learning in the classroom to supplement instructional strategies, to design instructional materials, and to enhance hands-on expierences and problem solving. I believe that this program is great for this standard. It is hands-on, interactive, uses technology, and ask the students for problem solving and quick thinking. This website goes along with Standard 6.1 by providing teachers with multiple ways to enhance their classroom. There are free worksheets to print out, many links to other websites to get educational material, educational games, and more. It has lesson plan ideas sorted by subject area and even emergency lessons for substitutes to keep students engaged. As a beginning professional, you can look at tips on how to write a lesson plan and improve it as well.

If knowledge was power this site would be invincible. With countless free lesson plans, activities, and games for both students and teachers this site has it all while adhering to standard 6.1.

Teachnology.com is a teacher's resource site that offers educational and instructional tools for teachers. This site reflects Standard 6.5, because this site features research in educational topics and teacher development, student and teacher safe search engines, information in educational technology, teacher newsletters, and teacher forums that allow teachers to communicate on updates and ideas in the educational world. Teachnology.com also offers classroom resources such as lessonplans, worksheets, templates for graphic organizers, and rubrics that can be used in the class.

You can use this site to analyze the data that you may collect for a project that you do with the many different graphs that it offers from kindergarten to twelfth grade. there are other things on this site that could help with math skills of all kinds.

This websites has several different guided math practices using manipulatives. It could be beneficial to all students, but especially those with special needs.

This is a totally free web site. Teachers can set up virtual classrooms with their students. This allows teachers to interact with students and students to interact with students and keep learning fun and exciting. The best part about this is, there is no e-mail address required so every student can have their very own blog.

This website is full of fun activities for all ages of students to engage in. It can be used for research, or help with a subject that a student is having trouble with. There are tons of different topics to choose from and have fun with and get extra practice in the process. Relating to the standard of 6.1, there are many different handouts teachers can print off for their students to use in the classroom. Also, all of the games go back to the topic of enhancing hands-on experiences and problem-solving.

This Website is actually the home of one of the other websites I found (posted earlier for Standard 6.1) with games and wanted to share it, because it has several other links and more information on teaching with technology as well as links to several games available on the internet.

I think we were stuck with the least appealing website of the day topic. Databases and spreadsheets? Seriously? I guess that is what I get for sitting in the back of the class. But I think the Engrade online gradebook that you found is way cooler than the one I found. Nice!

I agree with the least appealing, I wasn't exactly sure how to go about finding a site where you could do spreadsheets but this one is a good one, as I've seen a few teachers I know use it. I think it would be a useful tool for a good connection with parents.
