A woman who repeatedly accused her ex-boyfriends of raping her was today jailed after escaping justice for nearly a decade. Leanne Black made false rape claims against five different men over a period of eight years, but escaped justice until now. The 32-year-old used the rape allegations to get revenge on her partners after arguing with them - but a judge accused her of harming genuine rape victims with her lies. Black was sentenced to two years in prison at Newport Crown Court after pleading guilty to perverting the course of justice. In one case, she told police that her ex had drugged and raped her, and in another she claimed that a boyfriend had kidnapped her before violently abusing her. The innocent men could have faced up to five years in jail if they had been found guilty of raping her.

"KINGSPORT, TN (WJHL) - The Sullivan County Sheriff's Office says a Kingsport woman is behind bars after she admitted to making a false rape claim.  Wednesday, deputies received a call of a rape at a home on Poplar Grove Road in Kingsport. When officers arrived, they found broken glass inside the home and a torn shower curtain. Amanda Rowland, 36, told authorities someone entered her home while she was in the shower and proceeded to rape her. Rowland also told investigators that her ex-boyfriend received text messages saying that she was going to be raped. She was taken to the hospital. After interviewing Rowland's ex-boyfriend, investigators found out he had been receiving text messages concerning the rape for the last couple of days from different phone numbers. He told police that he advised his ex to leave the home."

BANGALORE: A 'gang-rape' complaint turned out to be false when medical tests proved that the 21-year-old 'victim' had not been raped and a police probe revealed that the woman and her boyfriend had been involved in previous cases of immoral trafficking. The complainant Rani had alleged that she was raped by three friends of her boyfriend Ravi Kiran Biswas (25), a cab driver, at a house in Nanjappa Layout near Adugodi on Sunday night. Later, the complaint was withdrawn. Rani, who lodged a complaint with Adugodi police, stated that Biswas and the three men partied at the house till the wee hours of Monday. When Biswas went into a drunken stupor, the other three allegedly gang-raped her, the complaint stated.

A man was arrested after a 78-year-old Limpopo pensioner reported that she had allegedly been raped. After identifying a suspect 26 years younger than the complainant, the police pounced. But hours later, police released the 52-year-old man from custody and dropped the rape case. Police have now charged the septuagenarian from Nkowankowa township outside Tzaneen with perjury. Limpopo police spokesman Brigadier Hangwani Mulaudzi said she had lied about the rape. Police investigations seemed to indicate that the pensioner had fabricated the rape allegation after the man spurned her advances.

A 25-year-old man falsely accused of rape says he spent the past 18 months "in a living hell". Gerard Doherty now wants the law changed to protect the identity of men accused of sex offences. He also says that, while he feels sorry for his accuser, women who make false claims of rape should be named and face prosecution. Mr Doherty said he had never been in a police station or inside a court in his life until a woman he was in a hotel bedroom with said she was raped by him. The father of one always denied raping and sexually assaulting the woman and this week a jury in Londonderry agreed that he did not commit the offence.

"A spurned lover whose cry of rape cost police coffers £10,000 was jailed for nine months yesterday. Belfast Crown Court heard that Lisha Tait cried rape after being given the "cold shoulder" in a Belfast nightclub by a man she had a previous liaison with. The 22-year-old, from Laurel Lodge in the Flush Gardens area of Lisburn, pleaded guilty to perverting the course of justice. The charge relates to making a false report and two false written statements to police on dates between July 6 and August 15, 2013 claiming she had been raped. Crown prosecutor Simon Jenkins said the series of events began in the early hours of July 7 when police received a call from the Ambulance Service in relation to a distressed woman who claimed she had been raped outside the Odyssey complex in Belfast. After making the claim, Tait was taken to the Sexual Assault Referral Centre in Antrim, where she was examined."

The Hofstra false rape accusation is a chilling case study in the harsh and byzantine ways our purportedly enlightened society not only tolerates but tacitly encourages rape lies as the price of battling rape, without regard for the terrible harm to the men and boys falsely accused. Modern people cannot stomach the sort of vigilante "justice" that, well into the 20th Century, condemned countless falsely accused men and boys to the lynch mob's rope. But the Hofstra case is a somber warning that the witch-hunt hysteria fomented by those self-anointed rape avengers of yesteryear is alive and well in our news media, in our law enforcement apparatuses, indeed, in society at large.

Pregnant north Taranaki woman has told a jury she lied to police when she accused her partner of raping and assaulting her. The man, in his 30s, cannot be named in order to protect his partner's identity. In the New Plymouth District Court yesterday the unemployed man denied raping the woman, indecently assaulting her and assaulting her with intent to injure her on the night of June 15 last year. Crown prosecutor Justin Marinovich said the case involved the woman being dominated physically, mentally and sexually by the accused. The woman told police her partner had raped her, strangled her, kicked and bitten her, and forced her to go with him to New Plymouth to buy cannabis.

Police said a woman lied when she told them she was forced into a van and raped by two men in Cumberland County over the weekend. Silver Spring Township police said Thursday that the woman filed a false report and no assault or rape occurred. The investigation is ongoing and criminal charges will likely be pursued against the woman, police said. The woman had told officers that she was walking in the 6600 block of Carlisle Pike when two men quickly approached her and forced her into the back of a van Sunday afternoon. She said the men then drove to an alley and raped her, according to police.

Six people have pleaded guilty in the hammer attack of a man after police say a woman falsely claimed he'd raped her. Felisha Hardison, her mother and four men pleaded guilty Friday in the attack on 25-year-old [name withheld]. Investigators say the Latrobe woman had claimed Mr. [name withheld] raped her, prompting the attack last April. Investigators say a group of men beat Mr. [name withheld] and hit him with a claw hammer as Ms. Hardison and her mother waited in a nearby van. Mr. [name withheld]'s injuries were limited to cuts and bruises. Less than a month after that attack, Ms. Hardison pleaded guilty to filing a false rape report in a separate case.

The World Health Organisation is very fond of statistics and, in a report commissioned by the organisation and co-authored by two women, it is claimed that almost 38 per cent of all women murder victims were killed by intimate partners and 42 per cent of women who have been victims of physical or sexual violence by a partner suffer injuries as a result. The article exploits one high-profile gang rape in India and a celebrity cook's marital spat as somehow emblematic of this "wave of violence" against women. What the two authors forgot to mention is that 41 per cent of all forcible rape charges instituted by women are false and motivated by providing an alibi (serving the complainant's need to provide a plausible explanation for a consensual sexual encounter that might otherwise damage her reputation), for revenge (false rape reports having been used for centuries as a means of retaliation against rejecting males, Aristotle himself mentioning a few examples in his handbook on midwifery) and as an attention/sympathy-procuring device (this being the least harmful reason for which false rape charges are made in that no rape assailant is ever identified but which still plays into the hands of feminists and their shrill claims of rampant misogyny).

A 75-year-old yoga teacher, who was accused of raping his disciple for almost an year on the pretext of marrying her, has been acquitted by a Delhi court after the complainant retracted, saying she had filed a false complaint. Additional Sessions Judge Nivedita Anil Sharma acquitted the senior citizen, a resident of west Delhi while observing that the victim had turned hostile and deposed that the accused had never established physical relations with her or promised marriage. "The prosecutrix (girl), has not deposed an iota of evidence of her being raped at all. She has not even mentioned the word 'rape' or any other offence in her evidence nor has deposed anything incriminating against the accused," the court said. The girl deposed in the court that she implicated the man at the behest of another woman named Reena, the whereabouts of who were not known to the police.

A disgruntled man is accused of filing a false police report about a rape threat and possible hostage situation that shut down a Gresham neighborhood early Monday morning. Police said the report came in around 4:15 a.m. The caller said an armed man ordered him out of his apartment at gunpoint and threatened to rape his girlfriend. Police prepared for a possible standoff and surrounded a complex on Southeast 182nd Avenue near Stark Street, shutting down roads in the area for several blocks.

As a conservative, I can appreciate certain Republicans' lack of tact in discussing certain topics. I hate political correctness. But there is a pretty large and, honestly, fair consensus that Republican officials hoping for a future should never, ever, dear God, never talk about rape. That's a bandwagon I can happily jump on. I am not a Republican official, however, so I am going to talk about rape; in particular, false accusations thereof. SEVIERVILLE - Sevier County authorities charged a woman with making a false report that she had been assaulted and raped in her home by an acquaintance. Susan Wagers was being held this morning in the Sevier County Jail in lieu of a $25,000 bond, according to the Sevier County Sheriff's Office. Wagers called 911 on July 8 and claimed she had been raped at her home on Willow Creek Lane near Sevierville. Authorities launched an investigation and searched for the alleged suspect in several areas in Sevier County, according to the SCSO. On July 9, Wagers admitted while being re-interviewed that the rape allegation was false, the Sheriff's Office said in a press release.

A 49-year-old Kansas City man convicted in a 1983 rape has been released from prison after DNA testing exonerated him and implicated another man. The Kansas City Star reports here that Robert E. Nelson was freed Wednesday but that prosecutors and the Midwest Innocence Project withheld the announcement until Friday, after the new suspect was arrested. Nelson was twice denied DNA testing before the Midwest Innocence Project took on his case last year and spent more than $40,000 for tests that identified the new suspect. Nelson began serving the 70-year rape sentence in 2006 after finishing earlier sentences for robbery.

The Long Beach Unified School District won a $2.6 million default judgment against a woman whose false rape allegation in 2002 cost the school district money and landed a fellow student in jail. Wanetta Gibson was a student at Long Beach Poly High when she first sued the district for having lax security and an unsafe environment after she accused Brian Banks, a promising football star, of rape.

Three teens who told Walterboro Public Safety officers they were kidnapped at gunpoint and almost sexually assaulted made up the story to avoid getting in trouble, officers say. According to an incident report, three female teens claimed they were kidnapped at gunpoint by four suspects from Edisto Terrace Apartments around 2:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 22. The girls, aged 13, 13, and 15, said the suspects tried to rape one of them, but she was able to fight them off. The girls said they were later forced out of the suspects' car at Wal-Mart. Officers say they noticed inconsistencies in the girls' statements after reviewing video from Edisto Terrace and Wal-Mart. The girls were re-interviewed, where officers say they admitted to making up the kidnapping and rape allegations to avoid getting in trouble. All three girls were charged with filing a false police report.
