This is a short little video comparing the difference between HTML and CSS to the difference of black/white or color photographs. The pictures are from a vacation to Sanibel Island, Florida and the West River in Guilford, CT.

After an afternoon of attempting to figure out CSS, I think I've got a basic understanding. I think the (Oprah) aha! moment happened. I used the site/page I created in the first set of challenges to create this navigation bar. The bar also features a rollover.

Recipe page I made with CSS and CSS menu I got help with doing a google search. The menu system has a style applied to it.

This is a nice tutorial on how to use MySQL to manipulate data. Really cool!

I created a working, horizontal menu bar on the main page HTML file for the web site I created earlier in the semester. The menu bar allows people to click on individual presidents' names to find out their favorite foods.

A CSS beginner tutorial.

CSS Beauty is a site that congregates some of the best CSS based web sites available. CSS sites from all around the world are found here for inspiration and knowledge.

I came across this site and found it to be a good reference (cheat sheet) when it comes to doing CSS.

Similar to something I bookmarked in module one, this page does a great job explaining CSS in its most basic terms. It is short on words, but long on meaning, which is what I tend to seek out when learning something new. The following line (which is very similar to something Alex said in the lecture) really helped me put CSS into perspective: "The coolest thing about CSS is that you can link to an external style sheet, and this sheet can change the style (font size, color, link color, link hover etc.) on your whole Web site just by editing the one style sheet."

This is an article that gives you time saving CSS-techniques. It is a cookbook of web-architect shortcuts. The Links and References section also has a list of other valuable resources as well.

More tricks and techniques you can use to make your site better with CSS. This site links you to various others to provide you with tips and codes you can utilize.

I found this really great site that details browser compatibility with CSS tags. It doesn't depict all css tags (prob. because they all don't have bugs), but details the bugs and compatibility that are known. What is nice is that it lays them out in a tabular format and includes many browsers (including the iPhone).

One of our challenges is to create a horizontal menu bar, which we did not go over. I am in the process of creating mine now and found this helpful. You might too! Hope it helps!

Great site for testing the different font, styles, weights, etc. options before using in your site. There's even a button to create the css code for copy/paste into your css doc!

This site also you to print off "cheat code" for a variety of programs including HTML and CSS. It may be useful for our class and easier to print off than make it yourself.

This CSS cheat sheet is not really set up like a standard cheat sheet but it is easy to read and follow along. I think it will be helpful to those of us who need to be reminded of all the CSS shorthand.

This site has it all. I found it to be a very useful resource when trying to restyle my recipe. It has both, HTML and CSS information. Check it out when you can.

It may be a great recipe, but no one is going to try it if the page doesn't look great.

Here it is folks; my recipe page do-over. I wanted to add a background image that I made on photoshop but it wouldn't load/show. Enjoy the page.

I added CSS and a menu bar to my 3 page site from module 1. I used background images and colors. Tested in both IE7 and Firefox.
