That's probably the best way to learn HTML and CSS. And you can actually collect good examples from around the web, since HTML and CSS are always viewable.

This may be my new favorite coding assistant. I found it on the Web Developer's Handbook, as linked to from CSS Zen Garden's CSS Resource Guide. Seriously, this rocks.

Here's an interesting site I encountered looking for CSS cheat sheets. I'm not sure how useful it might be, it because the entry is dated 2006. But the eye-candy on the page attracted me.

This website is also from w3schools. And this involves changing colors of text, background etc. It shows examples like the book does and is very easy to follow.

I'm always being asked to provide chart information for my business stories in the newspaper, but what if I could do it in CSS and make it pretty? That's what this programming tip provides, and it looks pretty cool, too.

I think CSS charts are one of my favorite thing :). I am sure, someday, they will be superseded by built-in charting tags, but for now, I love 'em.

Another great beginner's intro to the world of CSS mainly because it provides just as many examples as it does explanations. In addition, it encourages you to try out the code as you go along rather than simply expect to learn by osmosis (which is pretty much impossible with this subject anyway).
