SemTech 09: Semantic Search Key Points in Hakia Philosophy - 0 views

  •
Berkan we find some key points: * structured data is not equivalent to semantic technology. Simply organizing information in a database, to pull results for the search engines inside their SERP, it's not making semantics..........

UI Pattern Documentation Review - Boxes and Arrows: The design behind the design - 0 views

  •
User interface (UI) patterns have the potential to make software development more efficient. The prospect of such efficiency gains has led to interest in user interface (UI) patterns by individuals and organizations looking for ways to increase quality while at the same time reducing the costs associated with software development.

Yago (ontology) - 0 views

  •
YAGO (Yet Another Great Ontology) is a huge semantic knowledge base. Currently, YAGO knows over two million entities such as persons, organizations and cities and about twenty million facts about these entities. A web interface allows users to pose questions to YAGO in the form of queries on the YAGO homepage. YAGO is being developed at the Max Planck Institute for Computer Science ...

  •
YAGO is a huge semantic knowledge base. Currently, YAGO knows more than 2 million entities (like persons, organizations, cities, etc.). It knows 20 million facts about these entities. Unlike many other automatically assembled knowledge bases, YAGO has a manually confirmed accuracy of 95%. YAGO is part of the YAGO-NAGA project at the Max-Planck Institute for Informatics in Saarbrücken/Germany.

Our goal is to make it easier for people to collect, organize, find, visualize, and share their information. We are an interdisciplinary group of researchers blending approaches from human-computer interaction, social computing, databases, web infrastructure, information retrieval, artificial intelligence and the semantic web.

Annotea project - 1 views

  •
Annotea is a W3C LEAD (Live Early Adoption and Demonstration) project under Semantic Web Advanced Development (SWAD). Annotea enhances collaboration via shared metadata based Web annotations, bookmarks, and their combinations. By annotations we mean comments, notes, explanations, or other types of external remarks that can be attached to any Web document or a selected part of the document without actually needing to touch the document. When the user gets the document he or she can also load the annotations attached to it from a selected annotation server or several servers and see what his peer group thinks. Similarly shared bookmarks can be attached to Web documents to help organize them under different topics, to easily find them later, to help find related material and to collaboratively filter bookmarked material.

WebID - ESW Wiki - 1 views

  •
A WebID is a way to uniquely identify a person or other entity, such as a company, an organization, a web site, or other resource. The term "WebID" was coined by Dan Brickley and Tim Berners-Lee in 2000. As of 2010, the term "WebID" is used for a class of solutions, not any one technology. W3C may attempt to standardize one particular identity technology, which may use the term "WebID" more definitively. One of the current approaches using the name "WebID" is the FOAF+SSL WebID, a certificate-based solution. However, the concept of a WebID does not always depend upon FOAF (Friend-of-a-Friend).

umbel - Project Hosting on Google Code - 1 views

UMBEL (Upper Mapping and Binding Exchange Layer) has two purposes. Its first purpose is to provide a general vocabulary (the UMBEL "vocabulary") of classes and predicates for describing domain ontologies, with the specific aim of promoting interoperability with external datasets and domains. The second purpose is to provide a coherent framework of broad subjects and topics (the UMBEL "reference concepts"), suitable as binding nodes for mapping relevant Web-accessible content, also with the specific aim of promoting interoperability and to reason over a coherent reference structure and its linked resources. UMBEL presently has about 28,000 of these reference concepts drawn from the Cyc knowledge base, which are organized into more than 30 mostly disjoint SuperTypes.

Main Page - Semantic MediaWiki Community Wiki - 0 views

  •
the wiki for the community of users, administrators and developers of the Semantic MediaWiki extension to the MediaWiki application, and all its spinoff extensions, including Semantic Forms, Semantic Drilldown, Semantic Result Formats, Halo, Semantic Maps and others. The wiki itself uses many of these extensions, in order to provide a flexible yet structured interface to the data. Here you will find information on people and organizations in the Semantic MediaWiki community, a listing of SMW-based sites, a list of extensions themselves, a list of SMW-related events, a list of requested features for the extensions, and a list of "packages", which are collections of wiki pages defining properties, templates, forms etc. that can be imported into one's wiki to create an instant data structure.

TaxoDiary - 0 views

  •
TaxoDiary covers all types of knowledge organization systems (KOS), and related subjects. It is designed to provide the taxonomist, indexing and content professional with news and opinions about metatagging, and the application of KOS to increase findability of information objects within or across large collections of information, structured in databases, or unstructured in content repositories using controlled vocabularies. These activities are not unique to a single country or language, but rather shared and active globally.  It is part of our effort to keep abreast with the constantly changing field and to provide us information for research and used  in consideration for the creation of new products and services.

Project - LOD2 - Creating Knowledge out of Interlinked Data - 0 views

  •
The project aims to contribute high-quality interlinked versions of public Semantic Web data sets, promoting their use in new cross-domain applications by developers across the globe. The new technologies for enabling scalable management of Linked Data collections in the many billions of triples will raise the state of the art of Semantic Web data management, both commercial and open-source, providing opportunities for new products and spin-offs, and make RDF a viable choice for organizations worldwide as a premier data management format.

Knowledge Hives - Open Source - Trac - 0 views

  •
Knowledge Hives has been risen in the research community where contributing to the open source was a very common practice. We understand that in order to support the coming of third generation of the Internet (Web 3.0) a host of open source software needs to become widely accessible. Apart from our contribution to open source solutions delivered by others, a part of the mission of Knowledge Hives is to continue the research and development efforts of the Corrib.org group that has delivered many open source projects based on the research on the Web 3.0. In addition to publishing our own open source solutions and contributing to the existing open source projects, especially from the Corrib.org group, we provide commercial support that allows to leverage the potential of the open source software in more demanding environments, e.g., enterprises or large organizations.

Welcome to the NeOn Project - NeOn Project - 0 views

  •
Our aim is to advance the state of the art in using ontologies for large-scale semantic applications in the distributed organizations. Particularly, we aim at improving the capability to handle multiple networked ontologies that exist in a particular context, are created collaboratively, and might be highly dynamic and constantly evolving.
