You're a trader in an ancient city. A lot of reading invovled, with a few answer choices in the conversation. Might get alittle boring, but worth a try.
In general I have found the BBC Words In the News site to be very good. Here is a video exercise I found. It's probably best for int. to upper int. students. The Video includes and a PDF of the script can be downloaded separately if you wish. and there is an exercise included to reinforce the new grammar.
These materials are from BBC Learning English site. All of them are downloadable and each audio & video material have its pdf file (with transcript and vocabulary). These audios/videos are good for developing students' listening and reading skills, increasing students' vocabulary, and also speaking skills. It depends on the purpose of using this material. For example I used the first one (I haven't used the others yet) "Are men the weaker sex" with my intermediate students. While listening they underlined all the unknown words they had come up with, then we discussed the words together (I explained them in a target language). After, the discussion, I asked them not to look at the transcript and listened to the audio again. At the end of the audio they told me what the audio was about and in this way I could make them speak.
A very good and engaging tool to use in the classroom and have a follow up discussion. Everybody loves spekaing about their wishes, this way they will watch a video, have some vocabulary on the topic and then express their wishes. I think this way the students will be very engaged in the discussion and improve both their listening and speaking skills. This will best work with adults or young adults, intermediate level. I haven't used it yet in my classes, but I will for sure:)
I suggest using this link to have students of intermediate level get knowledge of ancient civilizations of Ancient Greek, Indus, Anglo-Saxons, Vikings, Romans, and so on. Students will learn about their Lands, Discovery, Way of Life, Home Life, The Gods and Heroes,Trade and Travel, Art and Writing, Technology and Jobs, Food and Farming, Games and Toys, The End of those Civilizations, What They Did For Us.

This game is helpful for teaching synonyms to kids. I tried the medium mode of this game with my neighbor and he liked it. He learned many new words from this game. Alternatively, it allows to see how the given words are pronounced and spelled. There is a worksheet which can be printed out to use in case there are no computers connected to the internnet at your disposal.
This game can be used to teach word order of sentences. I tried the medium mode of the game with my sister (a beginner EFL learner). It helped my sister to internalize the basic patterns of word order in English.
The aim of this game is to practice linking words and use appropriate once in a given context. Children also practice reading and learn unknown words. I have tried this game with an adult having beginner level of proficiency and she enjoyed the game as well.
This activity could be administrated at intermediate and advanced learners after introducing them some suffixes and prefixes separately. The activity will promote their ability to distinguish this staff forming the words.
I have tried this activity with my group of advaned learners, and it was really efficient, as they are used to learn the words through glossaries.Besides,it helped to enhance their vocabulary adding some new words with their definitions.
I tried out this activity with my daughter who is a beginner. However, she could manage it as some words are simple to undersatnd as they are traditional names of meals. She was so excited to choose the right instructions to achieve the target.
this activity is great for intermediate and advanced learners to develop their comprehension, reading and creative skills. It works great as after creating the story the learners are given the opportunity to reflect on the story as well.
This is a very exciting activity for the learners of any age who are in their beginning level. While teaching i tried it out and discovered that learners were more attentive to the details. I would recommend it to any learners who want to learn writing and pronouncing correctly. Don't miss your chance to learn them quickly and effectevily!!!
I tried this site for testing myself and found it an easy and useful task. It has 3 levels of difficulty. It's a suitable task for intermediate and advanced students.
