Breakdown of the different aspects of TPACK and how they can work together

A good site describing what TPACK is and its history.

Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK) attempts to identify the nature of knowledge required by teachers for technology integration in their teaching, while addressing the complex, multifaceted and situated nature of teacher knowledge. At the heart of the TPACK framework, is the complex interplay of three primary forms of knowledge: Content (CK), Pedagogy (PK), and Technology (TK). See Figure above. As must be clear, the TPACK framework builds on Shulman's idea of Pedagogical Content Knowledge.

This website provides basic info and good breakdown of what TPACK is and why it is necessary for educators. It was created by a professor of education.

This website provides a sequence of planning steps for school districts to apply when developing a technology plan and vision. This was published by the National School Boards Foundation. I thought these steps were clearly stated and easy to follow. Navigating through the website specifically this page, http://www.nsba.org/sbot/toolkit/atp.html also provided information for school leaders to consider when evaluating and assessing their districts plan which should be conducted periodically.

This is a useful tool that shows how much more beneficial the TPACK approach is to learning in the 21st century.

Hey everyone. I stumbled on this site while looking for sources for our debate this week. It gives some good information both for and against our topic. I thought it might help.

I actually watched each of the presentations (I only bookmarked the first) because they were all so entertaining and thought-provoking. I especially like the history of technology (e.g. oral to writing to print) and the threats each was perceived to have on the previous. I wonder if showing these to teachers might introduce our county's "21st century learning" initiative and the need for the "less than willing" to embrace constantly changing technology.

I remember when floppy discs really were floppy.

This is awesome! I remember when they were really floppy, too! It's funny that in my 7th grade English textbook resources, which were published in the last 6 years, the term "floppy disk" was still incoporated. My students stumbled upon the term this year, and I had to tell them it was esentially the same as the "memory sticks/jump drives/thumb drives" they use now.

Some interesting tips from Scholastic. I especially like their last tip - learn from a kid. We so need to understand how kids are using tech not only to engage them, but because they also do stuff with it that's not even on our radars.
