An excellent site detailing the introduction of certain technological advances in the school classroom. There is also a picture of each one for you visual learners.

An interesting, holistic (philosophical if you may...) study of internet as part of modern society, whether accepted or resisted to... It shows as well how people have adapted to it, so that total privacy won't be lost, and, of course,the fear of social media...

A huge amount of information about the use of instructional film, radio and television, but it does show general trends though each decade.

I love how the timeline broadens your view of what technology is... Because of the era we were born in, we've narrowed down technology to the most modern expressions of it... which makes it more difficult to connect the dots as to how tech evolved...

2006 paper on the development of technology

This quote struck me: "1995: Survey of teachers reported that computers were rarely used for instruction, but were used in elementary schools for drill and practice and in secondary schools for computer-related skills such as word processing" It was already 1995!!!! Things have changed so much in so little time!!!! I love to be able to see all these changes!! I love to have become an adult while witnessing so many revolutions of all kinds....

Simple and effective explanation with the use of a real life situation.The last post I made seemed very detailed and I wondered about my part as a teacher. Was I the one creating, following or implementing TPACK? This has helped me to clarify my thoughts. Thumbs up!

Hey Julian! This was a very effective sample from which I could get two of the main aspects in which technology can be a great contributor: students can learn independently by using tech applications, and students can learn more effectively by following an interactive model. Nice video!

It is incredible how social media can connect otherwise unconnectable professionals. I have experienced numerous school decisions that parents did not support and which could have benefitted from examples carried out in other schools.

Spotsylvania County has a great Instructional Technology website. TPACK is emphasized in their professional development. Under the Resources tab, go to Professional Learning and there is a booklet called Technology Triage. It starts with a explanation of TPACK and then gives teachers help with implementation. Under the resources section there are also handouts from Instructional Technology conferences from the last three years. Most of these speak to TPACK framework.

This is a useful tool that shows how much more beneficial the TPACK approach is to learning in the 21st century.
