"Floola is a freeware application to efficiently manage your iPod or your Motorola mobile phone (any model supporting iTunes except iPhone, iPod touch and nano 6G). Floola Desktop is another freeware application to manage your local PC music library. Both are standalone applications that do not need installation and run underLinux (any GTK2 distro), Mac OS X (10.4 or newer!)" --I have used Floola to retrieve music files off of an old ipod that itunes would not allow me to use the music from. If anyone else has had this frustrating problem, Floola is your friend. It also allows you to use your ipod like an external hard drive and drag and drop files to and from it...no syncing necessary.
Thomas Cott is the director of marketing for Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater. "You've Cott Mail" is a fabulous weekday email for arts enthusiasts, managers, administrators, or artists. He picks a different topic everyday and scours the web for interesting/good/useful blogs, articles, etc, compiles them into one email with several links, and delivers it to your inbox. I can't recommend "You've Cott Mail" enough.
Interesting site with a lot of information. Also the Pew report affirms what I am seeing happening in the organization where I work: The Memphis Symphony. I would love to see more technology used in performances and in education, but funding is an issue, as well as a unified institutional vision as to how to integrate technology into the aesthetic aspects of what we do. Marketing is already making use of technology.
