This is a podcast series that would be appropriate for our 8th graders doing NHD research. Each of these podcasts could be assigned as homework a couple of nights before these topics are covered in class so that students come into class with a basic understanding of the content to be covered that day. I guess it would be a little bit like "flipping" the class for that day. The teacher could have a quick discussion about detecting bias in primary sources based on the information from the podcast and then the rest of the class could be freed up for students to actually rotate through primary sources and practice detecting bias.

This is an online course that would be excellent to use with our 8th graders who are learning robotics and Scratch right now. Engaging them in several different types of basic coding activities can help show how the elements of computer programming are constant whether they are working in javascript or RobotC or Scratch, though the terminology might vary a little. This can help prepare them for more advanced programming classes in HS.

We have parents who want to run book clubs during lunch hours. Many times they are not organized and there is not much reading that takes place. This would provide a great overview for the book clubs, provide it with structure, and also give some tasks to be completed during the reading.

Fourth grade does a wax museum each year. This would be a great early lesson on how to research. Students work together in groups to choose 6-10 facts to add to a timeline. The lesson could be used to teach students about the important information. What information should be shared during the wax museum?

Would use this for an in-service with teachers that focuses on determining text complexity

Would be great to share with 2nd grade when doing their butterfly unit and a great resource to show point of view. Students could write AS the egg, etc.. and go through the cycle.

A course on how to build an audience in social media. Excellent professional development resource for teachers and librarians wanting to build an audience within their social media. The entire "course" would be a large time investment, but many of the resources for the course could be used for staff development.

This unit available can easily be integrated into our middle school health class. The "course" was prepared by a nutritionist and includes videos, transcripts, and quizzes

You are able to create a cube to go with many projects and topics. Already created ones include: Bio, Mystery, Story cubes where you can have the question and users type in the answer. Print and fold to create a cube. The last and most useful is the create-your-own cube where everything goes. Great for a get to know you activity or even a self created game.

TubeChop allows you to easily chop a funny or interesting section from any YouTube video and share it. I use this with older students and teachers who want to include or show a piece of a youtube video. This allows the user to cut and select just a piece.

When students learn simple machines, the Museum of Science and Industry has this Simple Machines game that demonstrates different concepts of this unit to show them just how simple machines work.

For the musically inclined, use Incredibox for students to create beat tracks that they can utilize to make songs and dances to associate with learning targets and concepts. For music teachers, they can ask kids to create beats that demonstrate their learning of musical concepts.
