This is a great source that has a list of artists/musicians from the Harlem Renaissance. It has direct links to the poems and audio links to the music. I would use this site in the study of History or literature during the Harlem Renaisaance.

This website from the Immigration History Research Center and the University of Minnesota has collections of digitized letters written by immigrants and to immigrants. It contains original images of the letters as well as translations, since most letters are in languages other than English. This website allows students a first person perspective of the challenges faced by immigrants to the U.S.

Although this site focuses on primary documents that orignated in California, there is some great primary documents from the Gold Rush, immigration, World War II, Pearl Harbor, and more. There are many quality photographs found on this site along with newspaper clippings from history.

This site includes government documents maintained by the U.S. Department of State about the land, people, history, government, political conditions, economy, and foreign relations of independent states, some dependencies, and areas of special sovereignty around the world. These documents are part of the Diplomacy in Action webpage maintained by the U.S. Department of State. If you search out other links on this site, you will find a vast resource of information about countries around the world.

This site uses primary images along with videos about topics like the Great Depression and Dust Bowl. Having videos of individual's remembering these specific historical events related to Nebraska history from would be a powerful resource for students. This would be a great resource to use along with other primary documents.

The NPAHE has links to Nebraska historical documents and photos along with connections to other events in US history. There are primary documents, links to additional resources and lesson plans to help put everything together.

Allows students to take online multiple choice tests to test their knowledge. Tests at 4th, 8th, and 9th grade level. Might be a support item for NESA.

This site has boasts 600+ questions in a database geared to 4th, 8th and 9th grade on civics, economics, geography, math, history, mathematics and science. Students can see how they compare to students nationally and around the world when they challenge themselves answering these questions.

This is another portal with a ton of great links. There is a page full of links for educators and then drop down menus that separate K-6 and 7-12. In these drop-down menus are links to entire pages of websites devoted to topics like the government, history, the military, math, and science. Not all of these sites have government documents, but many of them do.

This page has countless primary documents and access to so many teacher resources. Nearly any topic you can think of that relates to American History will have some primary source documents available at this site.

This site is maintained by Texas Woman's University and is a very informative site on the history of the WASP program, and the women who participated. The University also has an exhibit in their library honoring WASPs.

This is the official site for the Ken Burns series on National Parks. Here you can watch clips of the series. There are sections on the history of national parks and the people often associated with the parks. There are lesson plans for upper grades for various episodes. There are also learning modules for digital story telling that I found very interesting.

This site has information on the unicameral and it's history in Nebraska. IT has photos of the state capitol and our senators. There are also links for other sites about Nebraska. If you are planning a trip to the capitol, there is a page on how to make easier.

This is a NASA site that had sections geared for students. There are also lesson plans for all grades, K-12. There are also a variety of mulitmedia resources. Some of the information that can be found is NASA's history, earth, technology, space, space missions, and how NASA had affected our lives.

On this site you can find biographical information on all NASA astronauts. There are also pages on international astronauts, and how to become an astronaut as well information on living in space. This site also has pictures and information on the history of the space program.

This site gives an excellent explanation of the Nebraska Unicameral. There is a special section devoted to help teachers and students understand the Unicameral and the state of Nebraska

The American Memory collection is such a treasure trove, including this old photograph of Sioux City (as well as many other Iowa towns). This would be really useful in a unit about local history or even for younger students, talking about communities and maps. Students would find it interesting to match up today's view of the city with this one.

This is a great source when studying southern history, literature or culture. In this source you will find slave and other first-person narratives of the South, as well as a collection of southern literature. It could be used when studying the Civil War to get more of a southern point of view.

Site includes maps, pictures, thematic packets for teachers and more. Teachers are able to navagate throughout the site to access all aspects of history. Site also provides sources for professional training and outside resources. Site provides training on how to use primary sources.

Library of Congress Teachers Page, with links to using primary sources, etc. The LOC has created "Themed Resources" that include specific, common topics into easy to use sets. The combined resources include grouped primary source sets, lessson plans, exhibitions, etc. Love IT! Also provides user with pre-made LOC professional development sessions called "Teaching with Primary Sources."

Site's front page uses timeline to break history of US into 7 eras; ie 1700-1815, 1815-1860 and so on. You can search by era, or by topic. Topics include Civil War, Holocaust, Vietnam Memorial and more. Documents can be zoomed in on enough to read legible writing.
