Just 4 Teachers: Sharing Across Borders - 1 views

  •
This website is ideal for teachers to share ideas and stay in touch with other teachers all over the world. Teachers can easily share stories of students and lesson plans that have worked for them in the past. Teachers sharing with each other is vital for the success of students. There is no need to "rewrite the book" on teaching when people have been doing it for years and years. These websites can also give teachers great insight on what is going on in schools all over the nation and possibly integrating students from other areas in lessons, such as pen pals or Skyping in the classroom.

Health: Smoking Dangers for Elementary - eThemes - 0 views

  •
I chose this site becuase it has so many ideas that can be adapted and formed to fit your specific class, kids, and needs. Talking about smoking with kids can be a touchy subject just because they may have family members or parents who smoke and you don't want to be seen as attacking them. This site gives you lots of ideas on how to approach the topic with students and teach them about the health risks or smoking.

Lesson Plans for Students with Disabilities - 0 views

  •
This is a great site becuase this is a topic that I know I need help with and I'm sure others would as well. There is such a wide range of disabilites and with each disability comes an even wider range of students who react to that disability differently. It's so hard to be able to know what to do in a certain situation so that you know each student gets the help and support they need. This site is a great resource for adapted lessons and other ideas that will help you reach every student.

This science website is packed full of information. It has links for all different types of science from chemistry to earth science. Something that I found very important is it have video clips with worksheets for all departments in science, lab ideas and lesson plans on how to teacher the lab to the class, images and photos, and games that can be played by the students as a way of reviewing and learning about the topic.

Choice (1): As an English/Secondary Education major, I use this website to read journal articles and look at relevant topics in the field of literacy, English studies, and Language Arts. This website contains a ton of information including lesson plans, activities, etc. You can become a member of the NCTE and connect in other ways if interested. There are professional development opportunities (conferences, etc.) that are available, too. You can sign up for email newsletters and updates which contain new information in this field.

History & Social Studies | EDSITEment - 0 views

Social Studies (1): This is a great website that can be used to gain lesson plan ideas. It is separated by grade level, topic, and how many class periods a teacher wants to spend on a certain subject. There are 400 social studies/history topics to choose from including both American and world history. Teachers can print off worksheets for students, get activity ideas, etc. It is very user-friendly and contains a ton of information. It is a government-funded website, so it is currently not being maintained due to funding shutdowns; however, a lot of the topics are still useful and relevant because the information will never be outdated.

PE Central: Web Sites for Kids - 0 views

  •
I love this site because of the VAST amount of information on it! It can be so hard to know when doing something like P.E. what to do to teach the skill and then, with such a wide range of skills and abilities, how to assess the skills you've taught. This give you ideas for lessons, bulletin boards, assessments, adapted P.E., and so much more.
  •
I love PE central as it has different lesson plans and quizzes and ideas that pe teachers came up with and uploaded for others to use. I also, like it because if i came up with a game that worked and students loved i can upload it and other teachers can use it for their class.

This site provides many different subject areas and options for lesson plans. The site says they have over four thousand to choose from so I feel this site would be helpful. This site would be most useful when looking for ideas to go along with a lesson plan that I already created or to get ideas of subjects to make a lesson plan.

This website is loaded with lesson plans for all ages. There are also lesson plans for every subject group. You can create a lesson plan on this website and also upload your lesson plans to the website. This is a great tool for teachers because even if they don't want to use these lesson plans, they can get ideas from other teachers and then they can use them in their own classrooms.
  •
This site provides an abundant amount of free lesson plans for teachers to use. This is a great resource especially when you are starting out or looking for something new!!
  •
This website gives you all the different subjects and different grades for K through 12. It gives you a lot of different ideas.
  •
Teachers have the convenience of searching for created lesson plans, sharing their own, creating their own, or being given a jumpstart idea.
  •
This also has free lesson plans for all grades, and all subjects. You could create a lesson plan too! The teacher could also get the magazine for this website. Again, I would use this for a resource and ideas.
  •
The web's largest collection of free lesson plans, submitted by teachers. Download free lessons, thematic units, activities, learning games, printables, classroom projects, and more! I would have my students use this website to use when doing projects. This would help them assign tasks when they are working and they would know what needs to be done for the project.

This website provides some excellent grammar games for elementary age children. I could see using these games as a suppliment to a unit on verbs, adjectives and nouns.

Rethinking What Can Be Done in Physical Education - 1 views

  •
This is a great PE resource because it gives additional resources for twitter conversations, includes a blog website, and past speaking events based on health and wellness and physical education. I can implement this resource into my classroom with understanding more about the benefits of physical education for my students and possibly incorporating some basic PE games or movements for the students to stay engaged.

I like this resource because it offers a creative way to check for understanding and reading comprehension in students. It is free and allows the teacher to create their own questions, quizzes, and more. This would be a great tool to utilize in my classroom to incoroporate technology to check students reading comprehension, understanding, and if they are actually reading.

This is a good website for current events in social studies. Students could refer to this page when looking for current events around the world for a research project. It is also good for the teachers to keep up to date on world events.

This website would be perfect for opening up class each week when talking about Social Studies. It offers a couple of this week in history this happened scenerios. It also offers multiple topics to view such as government, cultures, economics, etc.
  •
Why I chose this site: I chose this site because social studies can often be a dry, boring, and uninteresting subject for kids. This site has lots of cool subjects and topics that can be relevant to kids. How I'm going to use this site: I could use this site in several ways. I could use it to talk about current events that are happening today or I could use it to teach kids about the past that we can longer experience first hand. This site could be used as a whole class, or, it could be used independently for research projects. It's nice too because it's kid focused so they wont run into topics, pictures, etc., that aren't kid friendly.
  •
This website talks about current events, geography, and holidays. It includes past history around the civil war period and Renaissance. This website contains stories and information about important history periods. Also, there are helpful fun facts and glossaries to help students with social studies.
  •
This site provides information about geography, government, war, middle ages, and many other areas that are studied in school. I like that it provides current events information as well. This site could be used in class if you wanted your students to write about something currently going on in the world, or even to research something from the past.

I chose this resource because it offers project ideas, discussion guides, book fairs, book clubs, as well as a teacher store. I would use this resource as a place to get materials that I need for in my classroom as well as a resource for books for students and myself.
  •
Lesson Plans/Teacher Sharing: I chose this website because it is free and easily accessible; I liked the visuals it included and that they included books that could be used to help teach the lesson. I could use this in my future to find lessons with books I want to read or to find a book for a certain type of lesson.

This website is ideal for finding new lessons and activities to do with students. I also like how there are two separate links for teachers and kids in order for everyone in the classroom to benefit. The lessons and activities found on the website are extra help for teachers to make new activities to keep students interested in material. It is always helpful as a teacher to have extra help with creating lessons and experiments.

The Educator's PLN - The personal learning network for educators - 1 views

  •
Personal learning network for educators to use and collaborate with other teachers, which is a bit more personal and immediate than other sites.
  •
I can use this to talk to other teachers or other people to get classroom ideas or just to ask question anytime I need to talk to another teacher.
  •
This is a ning site dedicated to the support of a Personal Learning Network for Educators. This website, after creating an account, allows you to network with other educators and has a wide collection of inspiring articles and helpful links. This would be a great website to swap ideas with other educators or read threads to keep up with helpful and relevant conversations.
