TWC301: Multimedia Writing

I looked up more information on copywriting because one of my closest friends recommended it as a career path for me. She told me how much she admired their expertise in the marketing fields. This site will be useful if I decide to pursue this career path. I still have so much to learn!

This site offers a step-by-step process of generating thumbnail sketches. The author of this site echoes the textbook's stress on the importance of this seemingly insignificant step. It can be a real time saver to help develop a composition from its earliest conception when my ideas are still a little fuzzy.

This website some basic definitions of the concepts of design.

This site describes balance as "the concept of visual equilibrium." It can be either symmetrical or asymmetrical. Symmetrical balance has equal "weight" on either side of a fulcrum down the center of the page. Sometimes this could be a mirror image or "approximate symmetry," in which the content is not identical on either side but are equivalent in a way that maintains balance. Asymmetry, on the other hand, involves arranging objects of different visual "weight" so that they balance. This could be achieved by a lot of small objects on one side that balance one large object on the other. The fulcrum can also be moved around the page. I like this site because it offers examples that can be enlarged by clicking on them.

Well balanced website that evenly distributes the page weight between the interactive menu and information related to choices made. Color is used very intuitively.

Interesting lecture discussing internet and governmental access to information about the population of any given country.

Great example of asymmetrical balance in web design. The use of green in the graphic really offsets the type adjacent to this design element.

Here is a minimalist website that has very clear and repetitive alignment.

I like this website because it shares some of the same ideas that Manivoch went over in his article , except for this focusses on Google but the basic idea is there .
