(D7, H1) Link 2: Digital History - 0 views

This site is of interest as it seeks to compile and make available a complete collection of historical documents, sorted and organized by area of academic or topical interest. Such a project is a prime example of the utility of a networked information age - students and teachers alike have direct access to primary source materials rather than depending on the analyses of others. Being physically distant from an important work is no longer a barrier to access. While not purely a link dedicated to the process of documentation, I think this is a valuable inclusion as an example of the power of digital documentation as an assistant to our own documentation.

D10 HW3 This website gives outlines for several types of formal writing.  All you have to do is fdetermine the needed document type and fill in the outline. This takes a lot of anxiety out of the process. It also includes a brief section about citations.

D #7 HW #4 Study Skills: Team Work Skills for Group Projects - 0 views

This website offers suggestions made by actual students on "surviving" and "thriving" in a group project environment. One student reiterates Team Writing by suggesting the use of a team charter. A "kick-out" clause is included here, which clear states the consequences if someone does not attend meetings or does his or her work. Other students bring up being open-minded about criticism from other team members and listening to their advice. However, this site recommends assigning roles based on the members' strengths, not on what they would like to learn. I suppose it depends on the deadline and complexity of the project.

While I know wikipedia is looked down upon in the academic community, it also is a combined effort of individuals publishing together from numerous nations. The front page also presents the divide in published articles from those nations. With anyone able to publish information, it can create a new identity for users to be perceived in the online community.
