I tested 4.1 with "ANSI" (i.e., ASCII) source documents, and, translating into French, I got UTF-8 target files, with the encoding set to "auto" both for source and target. > Can someone give me some suggestion (or report this bug)? Again, you can force the target encoding. See http://omegat.sourceforge.net/manual-latest/en/chapter.file.filters.html#edit.filter.dialog I was able to force the output to Windows 1252 (as appropriate for French) and UTF-16 without any issue.
