Cloudworks - Homepage - 1 views

  •
Cloudworks is a social networking site for finding, sharing and discussing learning and teaching ideas and designs. A Cloud can be anything to do with learning and teaching. Each Cloud is 'social' in that it is possible to have a conversation around the Cloud. A Cloud could be: a short description of a learning and teaching idea, information about resources or tools for learning and teaching, detailed learning designs or case studies of practice or a question as a starting point for a discussion. Clouds can be aggregated into 'Cloudscapes' associated with a particular event, purpose or interest. For example you can have Cloudscapes associated with a conference aggregating Clouds about conference presentations or tools and resources referenced. A Cloudscape can be set up for a workshop where Clouds might include workshop resources, tools or activities. Cloudscapes can also be more general for example to stimulate debate about a particular teaching approach. Clouds can be associated with more than one Cloudscape.

WritingFix: interactive prompts, lessons, and resources for writing classrooms - 1 views

  •
"Since 2001, the Northern Nevada Writing Project has proudly sponsored this free-to-use website, which aims to "fix" those teachers who don't believe that the teaching of writing can be both fun and rewarding. If you explore our website's pages, you will find prompts, lessons, and resources that were created and shared--and then posted here--during workshops and in-service classes sponsored by the NNWP. The Nevada teachers who participate in these professional development opportunities discover ways to be passionate about teaching writing, and here we share the very best, hoping that our passion is contagious to the teachers across the globe who have discovered what we've proudly posted here."

A Plethora of Technology: 42 - 1 views

  • I am an advocate of the idea that it is technology that is a tool to increase learning, not the end result. Students gain nothing by just using technology.

      My point, exactly!
  • In many elementary schools, student work is hung in the classroom or on a wall? Do people read them?
    • anonymous

I don't think that they DO read them if just hung on the wall.
  •
"One of the discussions that came up during the morning presentation with the middle school staff was the idea of writing for audience. The traditional model in the classroom has the teacher assign a writing project for students. "
  •
    I don't think they do
