I first heard about this from my Eng 150 Librarian, but was reminded of it the other day. If you love to read and are always looking for good books it is awesome! I noticed Professor West even has a link on the class website. Enjoy!
I think there are probably a lot of you that already subscribe, but I've recently joined and I love having a way to keep track of the books I've read. I highly recommend it.
It's a great way for English teachers and students to keep track of the books they've read and be able to remember them. It's also a great way to share what books you've read. You can makes groups and have discussions, too.
I think this is really neat and I agree with it. My Creative Writing/IB English 11-12 teacher from high school has a facebook page, a personal one, and she is friends with alot of her teacher friends, current students and student alumni. Not only do we get to keep in touch with her, but she also asks our opinion on how to run the class, how to make it better, becuase we have been there before. She has also issued a challenge to all her alumni and teacher friends to keep track of how many books we have read this year, and I am now in my mid-twenties. Thanks to her, I've kept on reading and writing, all because we are friends on facebook.
Here is an excellent website that has tons of ideas, lesson plans, and activities on how to teach Shakespeare in the classroom. Some of the activities and games are really fun and interesting!
