the focus of this guide is on college libraries as an academic support service, college level research expectations, and the research process. 

The idea behind the site is to introduce students to a variety of books and form classroom book groups.  How does Extreme Speed Booking work?  A whole lot like speed dating.      Students spend a little time with each book and then rate them accordingly with "I want to read more",  "Interesting", "Not for me", or "I've already read".  Students can also make a note of how interested they are in reading the book (maybe a 1-10 scale)?  This process introduces students to a variety of books, genres and authors.  Students may come across titles and authors they wouldn't otherwise find.  It also helps teachers form classroom book groups that are of high-interest and investment to students because they had input. iLearn Technology

UCF - imilar to movie trailers, video book trailers are short, minute and a half to two-minute videos that introduce the basic storyline. They differ from book reports captured on video in that in these productions the story is re-enacted with artistic and creative decisions made by the director as to what parts of the story are presented.\n\nTEACHERS: Are you interested in creating your own book trailers and posting the on this site? Overall an informative page with some good guidelines. I especially appreciate the comments about keeping the maintainance work load low. Creating a blog is a good idea, but it has not been practiclal here in China since free services like blogger and edublogs are blocked. Adding wordpress to the ISP is the best solution. I tried this at one point and the server lost the wordpress download. Time and frustration has not allowed me to try it again, but I know it will work. I'm surprised there is not a suggestion for wiki links. J. Valenza has shown that this is an easy and possibly effective collaborative process.
