I think that we should talk about how these global issues--Ukraine and Venezuela--shed light on how lucky we are here. Yes, we have a lot of issues with our government, but we have our basic needs and rights taken care of. And perspective is something we can be short on in this area.

That is so disturbing....I mean, I don't use webcams often, but just the fact that they were able to get away with this proves that we need to fight against government agencies who are infringing on our privacy

I don't know that we really need to teach cursive anymore--it can be so difficult for kids to learn, and has such little value. Its very challenging to kids with motor issues, and it doesn't help much in terms of their ability to take notes, etc....it's not much faster.

How does this relate to how we treat the widows or widowers and children of suicide deaths here--they can't get life insurance?

I think that the difference between this and computers is how active they can be. Children can and do learn from technology, and that's great. But they should definitely be monitored, because Iphones are so easy to use, so kids can find anything. And their screen time should be limited by age and time--little kids should be learnign in the real world, too, not just the virtual.
