The Sustainability Information Teaching Exchange - 0 views

  • Explains the purpose of the resource pack and how it works; written from the author's perspective as useful background reading for users of the pack I have a question for you, yes you! - the reader of this document: how does the work you do affect the wellbeing of the world around you? How might it affect the world in years to come? Yes I know these are rather huge questions that probably require huge and complex answers, but I think it is worthwhile each of us asking these questions every now and then for the sake of our own consciences and the world in which we live.

Action research lies at the very centre of human life. . Action research is a family of approaches through which we can work to develop democratic dialogue in the service of mutual understanding and more informed action. It is an approach to living based on experience and engagement, on love and respect for the integrity of oneself and others. It depends on our willingness to rise above presupposition, to look, and to look again, to try out different behaviours, to risk security in the search for understanding and appropriate forms of action. All this in the service of opening possibilities for creative living.A

"This site will aim to show how schools can become more sustainable places if they take a critical approach to geography. It will consider this question: If geography teachers and students view schools as exciting places that are worthy of study - can they have a significant role in mapping and enabling sustainable change? It is based on an approach to learning sometimes called 'place-based learning' but here described as sustainable geography."

An inspiring visit to Holland - Ellen MacArthur Foundation - 0 views

  • I felt a difference in Holland with the most surprising part being the language used around the subject. Merieke van der Werf, a politician from Amsterdam, talked about not just improving the current industrial system to be a bit more efficient, but redesigning how it worked so that it actually had a positive impact.
  • I absolutely love their thinking, which turns everything on its head.

Use it for planning, for reflection, or as a upgrade to powerpoint since you can embed any resources you want to use into the visual plan itself. Whole lessons can be saved with all their resources and annotations for later use and sharing.
