It shouldn’t be inferred that Unilever are somehow the first company to put ‘green standards’ this high on the agenda – they’re not. Neither do their ambitious targets necessarily mark them out; I suspect I’m not the only one who’s had a chuckle at some of the rather ludicrous ‘zero carbon emissions by 2015’ that others have touted.
