Looking for a fun and physical way to celebrate Read Across America Day? Try this chaotic balloon game inspired by The Cat in the Hat Comes Back by Dr. Seuss. Kids practice the alphabet while trying to keep 1, 2, 3, or even 26 balloons up in the air! This activity would go with the K.RF.2.4: Identify and name all uppercase (capital) and lowercase letters of the alphabet

To cover standard 1.M.2, I found an interactive game for first graders to practice reading digital clocks. There are levels for telling hours, half hours, and quarters of time. I played it myself and even enjoyed it!

What should curriculum really be based on? This is a great site when creating a curriculum. It explains how curriculum is not based on what sounds good or what works best for the teacher but involvement with the students. Letting the be heard. since they are the individuals who are required to learn it. Check it out!

Check out this sweet youtube clip! I love the idea that the teacher(s) allowed the students to take ownership and part in this. Organization in a classroom is key. Very nice and fully thought curriculum

A dog is divided into 3 parts, front, middle, and back. Students have to place the picture on the correct section of the dog depending on where the letter being worked on occurs in the corresponding word to the picture. This activity could be used for standard 1.RF.3.4. Modifications to the activity would have to be made so that one syllable words were being used instead of words containing multiple syllables. Students could complete this activity during center/free time.

Need a cool activity for your second grade classroom that helps them know the difference between Facts and Opinions? Look into this site. Giving students the opportunity to create while learning is great. This teacher did a very good job.

Looking for a site that helps students achieve and know they have achieved? This site asks questions to second graders allowing them to choose the answer. Great tool for practice in the homes and even in the classroom.

Learning Games for Kids - Education is part of life. It should be fun and challenging... not boring. Learn while you play games! Kids will have lots of fun with these interactive activities with a choice of different subjects.

It gives examples of good professional development versus bad professional development, and gives reasons for these examples.
