I personally think that reading is a huge part of improving English proficiency. Reading logs helps children keep track of their own improvement and also work towards a reward. When I was a kid we got a free personal pan pizza from pizza hut.

Physical activity is being over shone by the heavy emphasis on standardized testing. A great way to keep children active is to incorporate movement into your academic lesson plans. This is a great website that lets you filter-search your lesson plans and best of all, it's free!

This website has different types of lesson plans as well and it shows by subject which is pretty cool to level down what you are really looking for.

This webpage offers a great deal of help in writing skills to elementary students. It offers graphic organizers, bright ideas for writing, parts of speech, grammar practice, and more. It even models writing by generating wacky tales using words provided by students.

A dog is divided into 3 parts, front, middle, and back. Students have to place the picture on the correct section of the dog depending on where the letter being worked on occurs in the corresponding word to the picture. This activity could be used for standard 1.RF.3.4. Modifications to the activity would have to be made so that one syllable words were being used instead of words containing multiple syllables. Students could complete this activity during center/free time.
