SpringhillCareGroup -Seoul (South Korea), Mar.27 (ANI): Visiting Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has asked his Norwegian counterpart Jens Stoltenberg to find an "amicable and good" solution to the NRI kids custody row, especially with a focus on keeping the welfare of the children and the interest of the parents in mind". Singh conveyed this message to Stoltenberg on Monday on the sidelines of the nuclear security summit being held here. Singh reportedly explained to Stoltenberg the importance of family ties in Indian culture, and expressed the hope that the outcome would be positive and within the ambit of the law, besides being in the interest of the parents and their children. Foreign Secretary Ranjan Mathai told media after the bilateral meeting: "The Norwegian Prime Minister also made a reference to the ongoing case relating to the two Indian children, and explained that this was the matter before the Municipality of Stavanger, as well as the local court, and that the interest of the children, as well as concerns of the parents, would sought to be addressed in whatever solution is found." Abhigyan, three, and Aishwarya, one, were placed in foster care by the Norwegian child welfare authorities in May last year, and ever since, the battle for the release of the two kids has been going on. In fact, External Affairs Minister S.M.Krishna had last month sent Secretary (West) M.Ganapathy to settle the matter. However, the custody row has taken a turn for the worse with the Norwegian authorities saying last week that they were not going to hand over the kids to their uncle in view of the "conflicts" in the family. United States, which limited the situations in which mail and wire fraud cases may be premised on violations of the "intangible right to honest services," has the potential to alter the future of health care fraud litigation. While Skilling is widely perceived to have closed the door to several types of common mail and wire fraud prosecutions, this may not turn out to be the case in health care. In health care, the renewed focus on kickbacks as evidence of an honest services breach instead may dovetail nicely with both the Obama Administration's emphasis on criminal health care fraud enforcement and the jurisprudence of the Medicare & Medicaid Anti-Kickback Statute. This kind of leverage may prove very difficult for prosecutors to resist, and most certainly will require changes in the way the health law bar approaches common Anti-Kickback concerns.

SEOUL (AFP) - South Korean police said on Tuesday they were investigating 27 North Korean refugees for swindling private insurance firms out of hundreds of thousands of dollars in bogus medical claims.Police said the refugees faked illness in collusion with hospitals to claim a total of 1.04 billion won (S$1.16 million) from insurance firms between 2007 and 2010.While listed as hospitalised, they frequented saunas, restaurants and even nightclubs. Furthermore the study says that mid-life stress may increase a woman's risk of developing dementia. Eight hundred women were subjected to study and they have found out that those who had to cope with events such as divorce or bereavement were more likely to get Alzheimer's decades later. BMJ Open reports says, the more stressful events there were, the higher the dementia risk became. According to the study authors, stress hormones may be to blame, triggering harmful alterations in the brain. Many changes in the body is caused by stressed hormones, it can also affect many things like blood pressure and blood sugar control. And they can remain at high levels many years after experiencing a traumatic event, Dr Lena Johansson and colleagues explain. However they also claim that they need more work to verify their findings and determine whether the same stress and dementia link might also occur in men. The study went like this, the women underwent a battery of tests and examinations when they were in either their late 30s, mid-40s or 50s, and then again at regular intervals over the next four decades. One in four women said at some part in the start of the study that they had experienced at least one stressful event, such as widowhood or unemployment. A comparable proportion had suffered at least two stressful events, whereas one in five had experienced at least three. The remaining women had either experienced more than this or none. At its latest debt auction raised 4.8 billion euros and saw strong demand from investors for the bonds maturing in three and 10 years' time. It is normal for aging people to have a physical and mental decline and it happens in varying rates and this varying case sometimes needs a higher level of support. Those elderly who chooses to stay at their own home for as long as possible need somebody to constantly assess whether they are actually coping. And their children should do so but if the children live in a very far place this cant be possible so they need to assign somebody who is in regular contact with them to do the monitoring. But how can you determine if they need to be transferred to home care?
