Maths Online - Decimal numberline tool - 1 views

  •
"The Decimal Number Line tool allows teachers to display and interact with a number line. The number line can be moved around and zoomed bigger or smaller. Teachers can decide on which units are displayed and also whether unit marks are displayed. What's really cool is that teachers and students can move an arrow back and forth above the number and when they're ready, they can touch above the arrow to reveal the arrow's location on the number line. The number can be turned off and on just by touching above the arrow. " description by Jim Hollis

Trading Around the World - 0 views

  •
International trade touches us all. We drink soda from cans made of aluminum mined in Australia, wear shoes made in Europe, eat fruit from South America, build machinery from steel milled in Asia, wear clothes made from African cotton, and live in homes built from North American wood. We take it for granted, yet before we can enjoy these products and materials, traders must negotiate prices and deliver the goods through a network of relationships that literally spans the globe. Play this game to experience the challenges and excitement of international trade. See if you can get the best price for the goods you sell and the biggest bargains for the goods you buy. Watch how the global economy is doing: the prices you'll be able to get and the deals you can make depend on how healthy the global economy is.

Planets - 5 views

  •
"The site allows the teacher or student to control how they are viewing the solar system. Users can touch and drag to move things around and they have a complete set of controls to change scale, speed of orbits (passing of time), or planetary object to follow. For example, if you follow the Sun, the Sun is stationary and it shows the other planets orbiting the Sun. If you follow the Earth, then it shows the other planetary objects with a stationary Earth."
