Spezify is a visual search engine. It gives related concepts at the top of the page and then finds images, definitions, quotes, symbols and sites related to the specified search. To limit some of the results you can click on the tools icon and take out some of the social networking sites. NOTE: Some of the search results may include 'M' rated content.

This is a fabulous site for Visual Arts students. It is a growing database of 230,000 images of art, architecture, and design by 25,000 artists spans historical, modern, and contemporary works, and includes the largest online database of contemporary art.

PixTeller offers a simple way to design and create visually stimulating images and then share them with others. All you need is your imagination to create targeted image quotes to stimulate interest/learning.

This is a great visual to back up my teaching. We had a session last week where I was explaining this information to a year 8 science class as they embarked on a major research project. You know some" get it" but others are still struggle with evaluating a source even if the agree as to the why. This is clean and concise.

This visual encyclopedia is created by the publisher DK. It is new, so somewhat limited but they have plans to grow. I see it as useful for younger students, ESL students and special education students. The site is easy to use and has clear categories. It also offers other sections: What's New?. Videos. Quizzes. Fun Facts. Galleries. Another section called My Space will also be added. Teachers may create an account and access a lesson planner. The DK Online World Desk Reference may also be of interest. You need to create an account to use it which takes seconds to do. This site "explores topics in physical and human geography for every country in the world, and practices critical-thinking skills
