I just thought this was an easy explanation b/w the two. It explains how adaptive technology is the adapting of existing tools or technologies, but assistive technology is just basically a broad term for the technology in general whether it be adaptive, assistive, or rehabilitative . It lists examples in the article. This just kind of helped me to understand the difference and wanted to share it.

This website has a few videos showing assistive technology that we may not have seen in class. these devices will be great to know about so that we can recommend them to the people it would benefit the most.

This is an article on assistive technology devices and OT! The goal of occupational therapy is to enhance or enable meaningful participation in the occupations (activities) important to the clients served. Therefore, technology is a component of providing occupational therapy services across practice arenas.

This video was very insightful! They talked about different terms used such as "chair chaser" (look that up on urban dictionary), spinal cord injuries and sex, drugs that can be used to assist with sex, assisted devices such as a love wedge (helps with movement) and toys used for individuals with sensation issues. They also indicated that for some people sex is therapy. It can help alleviate pain.

I think pinterest is a great place to get wonderful ideas to make your own assistive devices. This is cost effective for us as therapist and for our patients as well.
