Science on the Simpsons contains a collection of short clips from the Simpsons TV Show. The clips would make great lesson starter clips to introduce topics such as Natural Selection, Newtons Third Law and Angular Momentum.

Over 7,000,000 educational videos. WatchKnow website for finding educational videos for the classroom. This is also a great place to locate videos that you may want to download and incorporate into a Notebook lesson file. This site is maintained by the users and organized in a way that can really help teachers find relevant videos for the classroom. I also like the rating system that is used to help teachers make a educated decision on what videos to review.

If you want your students to use the internet for research, but find that sites such as Wikipedia can overwhelm students and contain too much information - then you might like to take a look at the Simple English Wikipedia. The Simple English Wikipedia uses simple English words and grammar to explain topics.  There are 70,000 articles on the site, a fraction of the 3 million articles that are on the main wikipedia page, but enough for most students. Check before you send kids towards the site that it contains the topics you want them to research. If it doesn't you could always create a page and add the information yourself - or make it a goal for the research project to write a page!

A great video to introduce K-2 to certain aspects of Internet Safety. The video makes some comparisons between the real world, and the online world, and at the end sets some rules to follow. Worth a look.

Site enables you to create search stories, very quick to use. I made one on Antarctica for my class in approx 4 mins

love this! Just fell across this tool this afternoon also - appropriate for all grades 3-12. Could also be modified for K-2

It looks good. Once people have seen it a couple of times it would take some careful planning to make something of value or real impact.

Hi Steve, it looks like its based on the old etherpad code, a great tool until you hit 15 users.

Mark, Even the interface is very similar. PiratePad (http://piratepad.net/) is another alternative Google have now included the EtherPad feature in its new version of google docs (It' still in preview and you need to tick a box in the document editing settngs). I'm yet to try it out with a class. Found that EtherPad also had issues with the 15 users. In a class I would often make more than one pad.
