Any stage 3 teachers interested in a gaming  approach to learning. This would be very interesting.  The project aimed to trial the efficacy of student-developed games in stage 3 classrooms. This wiki features the results and impact of the project on learning from the perspective of students and teachers from the two primary schools involved.

Really love the four research tutorials..... Great for Stage 3 and 4 students.

Studyladder has announced their free unlimited access to NAPLAN practice material. These cover years 3, 5 and 7.

This site too is linked to Brainpop jr, but it is for older students. Again excellent site (but costs) click on the 'free stuff' icon to see what you can use for free. Very suitable for Stage 2 to Stage 3, perhaps even Stage 4

SUPERB! Place the numbers on the number line. Loads of levels. Negative numbers and decimals. Play against the clock for a score. Good warm up activity useful for year 3 to year 6.

is a good visual vocabulary site that offers students illustrations that help students understand vocabulary. One drawback is that it has limited vocabulary, however could be used to introduce the word of the day / week etc Approp for Stage 3 and up

Use this link to book school seminars. This is the third year that we have had ACMA run seminars for our Stage 3 students at St Michael's. Seminars are highly informative and have a great impact on students.

Simple but fun fraction game for Stages 2 and 3

a simple dea for creating a visual story using 5 iages only- challenging idea but I see potential for K-3 . Students needs to consider what is needed in the images to tell the whole story.

BBC UK's maths, science and literacy games and puzzles for ES1 and Stage 1. They look good. Try the KS2 link for stage 2 and 3 games.

If you want your students to use the internet for research, but find that sites such as Wikipedia can overwhelm students and contain too much information - then you might like to take a look at the Simple English Wikipedia. The Simple English Wikipedia uses simple English words and grammar to explain topics.  There are 70,000 articles on the site, a fraction of the 3 million articles that are on the main wikipedia page, but enough for most students. Check before you send kids towards the site that it contains the topics you want them to research. If it doesn't you could always create a page and add the information yourself - or make it a goal for the research project to write a page!
