Savevid.com works well with YouTube and several other sites that I have downloaded video from. I found that the video can be downloaded as an mp4, mp3, a flv, HD or computer, IPod, burn DVD's and more. Downloading, burning or embedding video into PowerPoints or SmartBoard lessons has become something I do on a regular basis and more reliable than hyperlinks.

You Tube contains many great videos that can be incorporated into your classroom lessons. No longer have to worry that You Tube is blocked at school. You can now convert those favorite videos into a file that you can take to school and show your students.

I've been trying to remember what this site was since it was mentioned last semester. Thank you for saving me some time in searching and sifting through past information!

This site has premade, lessons that have curriculum standards attached. The lessons can easily be downloaded and used. The search engine allows you to look under topic, subject, age/grade level or standard.

Wow-What a great site!!

WePapers helps students and others share and expand their knowledge for free. You can find and download papers and documents you need in a matter of seconds, discuss them with others, or just mess around. WePapers is where you find the kind of quality information you wouldn't find anywhere else on the web, the kind of papers you'd have to dig for in dusty library basements and still not find what you're looking for. WePapers is one big study group! Universities are even using it for class-notes and articles. I could see using this in a classroom situation for research papers and the such. Students would have the opportunity to connect with others around the world, get help, and feedback from others just like them.

Even without a Promethean Board (interactive whiteboard), teachers can download tons of lessons (called flipcharts) and, using an overhead projector, can operate them from their computer. You do have to 'subscribe' but one version of the subscription is free. You can search for lessons by state, subject, even the standard being taught.

This site provided by the Library of Congress has professional development opportunities for all types of educators: teachers, librarians, administrators, and facilitators. The site allows you to download ready-to-view professional development modules. All of the pd opportunties on the site are standards-aligned.

Great website for educators to share slideshow presentations in all content areas of education. Share you own shows or download slides already created. Don't reinvent the wheel or hesitate to share something of your own.

Great podcasting website for teachers. It has plenty of podcasts that you can download yourself and use. You can also post your own podcasts. This site also includes video tutorials on how to use it.

This website highlights the uses of Google Earth which is a free download for anyone to use. There is a community message board you can join and check out. It features many of the resources Google Earth has as well as important topics facing education and our earth. There are also features that allow people to stand up for their own causes to help preserve the earth and it's resources. It's a great website to share with colleagues, students, and friends.

A podcasting resource website by the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. This is a site for novice and expert. There are tutorials, FAQ, lessons, websites for uploading or downloading podcasts. I have taken a podcasting class but didn't know about this reference. The websites listed at this URL that I checked still work. If I had someone who wanted to learn how to podcast, I believe this would be one of the sites I would suggest.

This is a website that uploads Powerpoints. It uploads the powerpoint and then will change it to mov and upload to YouTube. You may download video from YouTube and place it in your PowerPoints from this site. The instructions are easy to follow. However, you will need to refresh your page after about 10 minutes after uploading. The site sends you an email when the ppt is uploaded. This site takes a while to perform the task, but the quality is very good. I have been happy with the site. You can also Tweet from this site. Greating cards and setting up your own channel are also options.

Youtube can be used in so many different ways. Not only can you borrow someone's youtube for a presentation or lesson but it allows you to download your own video for a lesson or presentation. This is a great way to present a lesson, use as a resource for students and staff members or have students and teachers download their own presentation for class!

This is a great site for educators or districts. It offers so many options. There are teacher resources, online learning, timely topics, workshops, and even conferences. The site itself also features professional development courses to take or have done at your school.
