I love this approach to communication! I've used in all aspects of my work and personal communications and when I really implement it has really helped me navigate some high conflict situations. It does take practice and is easier to work with if you have others you can engage with to practice the techniques.

This looks like a good tool, but hard to say with only a 14 day free trial. I would like a 60 day free trial :)

The GoToMeeting platform can be used for meetings for groups in which all teammates are not in the same location.

I have used GoToWebinar and I loved it. It is easy to use and professional looking. I am curious to try GoToMeeting and GoToTraining.

It is interesting to me that so many people like GoToMeeting/Webinar/Training. I've had mixed experiences with it. It lacks some of the functionality of other tools like Adobe Connect (chat features vary depending on which version you have, playing videos is very problematic, relies on screen sharing to share documents and do presentations). We do a lot of webinars, many with very large audiences (300-1000 people). While this is fine for meetings and daily business. I don't recommend this for large groups., It also isn't good if you want to have a virtual room when you can leave your documents, notes etc.

Website contains the latest project management articles all in one place from multiple sites. It's pretty neat!

I posted this in our class discussion, but it occurred to me that it is really a great project management resource for those people who might feel daunted by difficult conversations. It it a resource that will help improve your EQ. In short, the book talks about how to identify when a crucial conversation needs to take place, how to plan for it and how to execute it. We have a couple of copies of this book lying around my office. I hadn't connected it to project management. I will have to check it out.

Many people I worked with at the Colorado Department of health use this approach. The state has invested in offering the course to employees. While I never had a chance to take this course, I've heard really great things about it. One thing that has made a difference for people I know who have done this, they did with a staff team. That way everyone is using a common approach. That seems to really support implementing what they learned.

A great overview of Conflict Styles as well as an interpretive guide to Conflict Style Inventories such as the TKI and Kraybill (Style Matters).

This is a tool that I wanted to share because I know in ILT a lot of people tout using Adobe Captivate for various projects. I recently came across Active Presenter, which has a no-time-limit free version that does all of the basic features of Captivate, most notably screen capturing. One of the obstacles I run into with project management is having everyone on a project team understand how to use various resources. If you have an SME who would be willing to make a quick screen capture of how to use a tool and record it using this program, it will save a lot of time getting everyone on the same page.

Time saver and better screen capturing than Captivate? I must try it!

This review published in the American Journal of Pharmaceutical Education examines "examines the foundations of the definitions of emotional intelligence as well as existing educational research involving emotional intelligence, both within the health professions and externally." What I found most helpful was the Summary of Emotional Intelligence Research Trials.

It might be possible to build upon your recent class INTE 5160, "Managing Information and Learning Technology Programs". The University of Colorado offers a non-degree PM certification program. This web page provides the information.

An entertaining YouTube video that lists the project stages of an eLearning project.View this at the beginning of the course. It could really help you (at a high level) in completing the final project proposal.
