12 Brain Rules -- illustrated | Brain Rules | - 4 views

  •
Brain Rules by John J. Medina is a multimedia project explaining how the brain works. It includes a book, a feature-length documentary film, and a series of interactive tutorials. *Information in this book helps PM's to understand some of the dynamics of the human brain and to reflect on how making small changes can have lasting effects. Example - having a meeting while going for a walk or that vision trumps all other senses.*

This is great information for someone unfamiliar with project management. The key characteristics go beyond common sense ideals. I especially appreciate the suggestion to "cultivate and rely on extensive informal networks inside and outside the firm to solve problems that arise" - that is a great proactive problem solving strategy. Thanks for sharing this info :)

This is a great list! I like how it lists not using information as a weapon. It's amazing to see managers ignore this rule. It comes with the territory of holding back one's emotions or personal preference. Letting go is a quality that is hard to find in management.

This one is close to my ll share at work :)

Definitely good reminders for the workplace! It reminds me of a coworker who had the "reply all" button removed form their email accounts at her previous company because people just couldn't help themselves from over using it. These are good rules to pass around every once in awhile :).

I think we take for granted, because we have all been writing emails for a while, that we know how to make them effective. I would definitely share this at work!
