Yup - the same people who publish the books in that series provide a free online resource with specific topics (e.g., "developing meaningful project objectives," "performing a cost-benefit analysis," "how to plan project execution"). It's not the PMBOK, but it's an easy to use and easy to digest collection of good information.
This looks like a great resource to learn project management from scratch. Since so many details go into project management, I think this would be the ideal reference for me, since it breaks it down for the novices. Thanks for sharing!
I came across this and looked at it just because it had a unique name, but when I opened it, it is actually helpful. It is a search engine to help you search the topic at hand. There are several links (including a free booklet) on project management.
Prince2.com is a website where you can download various project management courses. Also, this website has an option to download some courses for free, which seems beneficial!
This is a tool that I wanted to share because I know in ILT a lot of people tout using Adobe Captivate for various projects. I recently came across Active Presenter, which has a no-time-limit free version that does all of the basic features of Captivate, most notably screen capturing. One of the obstacles I run into with project management is having everyone on a project team understand how to use various resources. If you have an SME who would be willing to make a quick screen capture of how to use a tool and record it using this program, it will save a lot of time getting everyone on the same page.
I had looked at this too. It seems that most PM software ends up having to be paid for. I guess making it free ties to the idea if taking money off the table and using a collaborative organizational model :)
As our list of tools, programs and sites keeps growing, so does our list of passwords. KeePass is an open-source password manager that allows you to safely store all of your passwords so you can free up mental space for more interesting work! You can keep the file in the cloud if you wish, so it is available on all of your devices.
I've used this simple To Do list program for several years. It includes a task list, a calendar view and a Gantt chart. Probably not something to use with enormous complicated projects, but I use it for a lot of different things. It is a free utility that runs from an executable rather than installing a full program which makes it easy to give it a test run.
This site is tremendous for doing a lot of very cool things in Excel. Any time I have a new project, I always check in here to see if there is anything that can help me get my information into a eye catching and user friendly format.
Nice - thanks! Looks like this has tons of useful information for a huge number of things. And I'm psyched if a product I already have and know how to use can also address project management needs pretty well...
John, I have been dissatisfied until now about what Excel templates I could find for Project Management. This site really fills in the blanks for me. I know Excel extremely well but still found this quite useful!
The object of The Project Management Game is to assign the best staff to particular tasks and complete your project on-time and under budget.
This is definitely not Call of Duty, but it's free.
Here's a more realistic PM game, but you have to purchase:

This is a pretty neat tool I came across the other day. It's called Quizlet, and it lets you create flashcards and other games... for Free! I like it because you could use it to send out some pre pr post training materials, (acronyms, terms, ect.)
This is great! I use Brainscape.com to put in flashcards for my Spanish students. There is an app in the app store that pairs with it called "Flashcardlet" so that you can do flashcards on your mobile. I don't know if there is android app for it, but I'm sure there is.

We talk a lot about personal productivity tools at Lifehacker, but sometimes you're not the only person who needs to get things done for a project or job to be a success.
This is a review of free tools to support online collaboration. I've used several and found more to try out here!
His book helps team members to realize the importance of emotions when working with a team. I use this book in my administration class because we must always remember the human factor when working in groups to accomplish a task.
