Effective Oct. 1, Montana’s Uniform Power of Attorney Act is designed to provide important protection and safeguards for the elderly and others who grant powers of attorney. It also provides clarity for the financial institutions and others who rely on the POA. More importantly, the POA Act provides remedies and sanctions against those who would abuse that authority.

The Anne Ford and Allegra Ford Scholarships offer financial assistance to two graduating seniors with documented learning disabilities (LD) who are pursuing post-secondary education.  The Anne Ford Scholarship was first awarded in 2002; in 2009, with a generous donation from Anne’s daughter, Allegra, the award was renamed the Anne Ford and Allegra Ford Scholarship and granted to two students.Beginning 2012, we are offering two separate scholarships, the Anne Ford Scholarship and Allegra Ford Scholarship. To be considered, your complete application must be postmarked by December 31, 2011.

Future Care Planning Services was launched in Rochester, NY in 2002 as a unique collaborative service of two disability service providers and an aging service provider to encourage and help aging caregivers develop written health, housing, legal, financial and guardianship plans for the future care of their also aging dependent loved ones with disabilities. The Bozeman Chapter - Montana Association for the Blind is offering a scholarship of $500 to a vision impaired student for the academic year 2011-2012. Eligibility Meets federal definition of legally blind, i.e. <= best correction of 20/200, etc. Attending MSU-Bozeman, or graduate of MSU-Bozeman pursuing graduate program elsewhere.
