Etsy - 0 views

  •
Etsy is similar to Ebay. It's different because it's entirely focused on hand made products. It's a sight for artists to post pictures and descriptions of their work on along with a price. There is a monthly cost of a few cents so it is very affordable for an artist to keep their sight maintained, and also highly profitable if people notice and buy their work.

White tailed deer in VT - 0 views

  •
One of the main points of this site is biology of the deer, which is basically what they eat, their species, population number, location, and a little bit of anatomy. The other main points are Their habitat, why not to feed /bait deer, and what impacts do deer have on people. The purpose is to let people know the information in each of the main points and to have people be more knowledgeable about Vermont deer. The basic topics are pretty much species, what deer eat, where they live, how they survive, why not to biat, populations, and management. If someone wanted to know what this article is about I would say vermont big game. This is a useful site if you want to have a good summary of Vermont deer. This site goes over many good topics even though they don't go crazy in depth it is still a good site for me. There are sites outside of new England that go much farther into detail, but this site is still pretty helpful. This site has good information for me considering I am studying overall biology and management. I would recommend this site to someone who wants a great splurge of information about vermont deer, but if someone wanted to know more information about deer or if they needed info on specific topics that go deep into detail, than this site may not be for them. This site was pretty helpful because it gave information about everything and wrote two to three sentences about each and every topic . For example, the site says that "deer are completely vegetarian. They eat a variety of leaves, twigs, and nuts. In Vermont, a deer's diet consists of maple, ash, birch twigs and leaves. Small plants, grasses, and fruit and nuts such as apples, acorns, and beechnuts also are important foods."Clearly, this site goes into detail and has valuable information. I now know that I have furthered my knowledge about deer. Once I pick a specific topic to study I may have to pick sites outside of Vermont because states with a higher deer density and more money can study deer

25 Tips for Fundraising - 0 views

  •
This website included 25 tips on how to run a successful fundraiser in a school. Considering the Music Department hosts many fundraisers each year I decided that these tips could help me to evaluate what we are doing right and what changes we could make to become more successful. One idea I appreciated was to avoid doing the "small" fundraisers. While I had thought that any amount of money would be helpful, this site pointed out that parents and students begin to suffer from "fundraising fatigue" when they are asked to participate in multiple events. Also, although we have the same fundraisers every year, we are very bad about letting parents know at the beginning of the year the different fundraisers we will need help with. This website suggests to let parents and students know as soon as possible what the group will need their participation in. I thought this was a helpful website in because they presented their information in an eye-catching and a simply put way. Also, they would give a bullet point of helpful information, and then divulge further to explain their reasoning.

How horses build charater - 0 views

  •
Interacting with horses is not only a lot of fun for children, but it also builds their character in ways that will benefit them in all other areas of their lives. The best thing that parents can do for their horse-crazy child is let them learn to ride and handle horses.the main purpose of this article is to show that it's good to let children and teens ride because they develop responsibility and a bond between horse and rider. The topics that are covered are what the child will learn with a horse like sensitivity, patience, trust, respect, teach us to have a open mind, teaches us to learn from our mistakes, and it teaches us self discipline.this article is about how letting a horse crazy child ride and care for a horse.

The Chubby Vegetarian - 0 views

I honestly have no idea how I managed to forget posting this blog on here. This blog, by far, is one of my absolute favorites! Not only that, but their cookbook is amazing. The cooking has both modern and traditional aspects, which is great when easing my family into vegetarian and vegan cuisine. I definately suggest this blog to anyone who is thinking about being a vegetarian, but worries about losing some of their favorite foods. Believe me, you won't be!

Puppy mill - 0 views

Puppy mills are a very cruel environment where most pet stores buy their animals. This environment makes dogs and other animals stay in small, crowded wire cages. They live in their own feces and most animals don't even make it out of these mills.

Inspired Picture Writing - PicLit - 0 views

This tool is great to help students with their creative writing. The site provides visually stunning images with a bank of words for writing a poem, descriptive paragraph, or caption. Lists of words are categorized by verbs, nouns, adjectives, adverbs, and with an additional universal list. The work is public, supports vocabulary building, and helps with word relationships and nuances in word meanings.

Prep Matters- College Admission Requirements - 0 views

  •
This source was a treasure to find. Flipping from college website to college website in attempt to figure out all their individual requirements was a nightmare. Frustrated, I searched "college requirements" and found this gem of a website! Prep Matters is very simply a list of colleges and their testing and deadline requirements. It is organized in alphabetical order and lists the college or universities SAT scale, optional test and super scoring policies, ACT requirements, subject test requirements, whether or not the college is on Common App, and all early action/decision and regular admission deadlines. I think my favorite part of this website, however, is the ability to 'click' the college you are interested in, and it takes you directly to the college's homepage. The only downfall of this source is it does not have all colleges!

College Board- Compare Colleges - 0 views

  •
Many people have heard about and used the College Board website to help with college prep. However, I thought I would share this one tidbit of a tool that is within College Board called "Compare Colleges." This is a tool that you plug in any three colleges and it will line their information up next to each other. This information includes; name, location, type (private/public), campus life (how many students, rural/suburban/city, size), admissions (selectivity, requirements, score ranges), and cost and aid. This was a great way to see the colleges I was interested in without having to pull the information from their separate websites.

Athletic Training at The University of Vermont - 0 views

The University of Vermont's Athletic Training webpage was very useful to me. They talked about steps to getting their (requirements, courses, etc.) and they also proved why their program is a very good choice, with statistics and personal experience. I recommend this to anyone interested in Athletic Training.

This quiz was developed to get students thinking about their digital footprint. The quiz was created at the request of high school students who thought the creation of such a quiz could lead to a smart conversation about ways students can update their digital footprint so that it is one that leads to college and career success.
