The Iranian government briefly lifted their blocks of social networking sites like Twitter and Facebook on Tuesday of this week - only to put them back the following day. These Iranian blocks of websites came about after the 2009 riots that were the direct result of social networking sites. - These types of social networking sites promote so much networking, knowledge and idea sharing and communication that they must be accessed by those with the technology - not blocked by a fearful government.

Do you agree with Reza that the Iran government may have turned off the block to catch more people using these prohibited sites? Why would a government like Iran want to limit this access? How does this reinforce the importance of the basic American First Amendment right to a free press?

The Syrian president, Bashar al-Assad, says his government will surrender all chemical weapons to international experts. He claims that the rebels might want to block access to the weapons and trying to obtain said weapons might be dangerous. Is this statement trustworthy? How will the experts handle this information to insure safety and peace?

The ongoing Civil War creates many threats and challenges to the UN chemical team. It would be interesting to do a follow up to see how successful they have all been.

Selvedge magazine is based in the UK and it's issues are about interior design, fashion, art, craft, travel and shopping. This June they are offering a week long course on block printing. It's a workshop with two well known textile artists.

This is a sight for artists to post their work on. It creates a community where people can share and also get inspired by looking at other peoples art. A piece that caught my eye is a linoleum block print of an iris.

I used this site when I was confused about what I was writing about but I used this site that shows many different ways to get out of writers block and clear up and move on in my writing. It also provided different ways to organize who your characters are and ways to organize the tense you are writing in. This site also gives good writing tips.

This was a very helpful resource because it not only gave an overview of what poetry was but also added insight as to how to get started and how to get past writing blocks. Also it gave a really good way of getting out of writing in the same way, and how to explore different types of writing.

This site is blocked by barracuda, but is very helpful when I need inspiration and ideas about what to draw. Many helpful tips and "how-to" image sets can be found here.

Pinterest is a visual discovery tool that people use to collect ideas for their different hobbies and projects. People post collections on "boards" of visual bookmarks (Pins). These collections are used to do things like plan trips and projects, organize events or save articles and recipes. This particular board is full of American and European woodblock prints made between the years of 1880-1935. There is a subfocus of trees and landscape.
