The April 2013 edition of University Business includes the Models of Efficiency Spring 2013 Honorees. One of the honorees for Spring 2013 includes Valdosta State University for the "Academic Affairs/Student Retention" category. The article notes that Valdosta State University implemented Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition to increase student retention rates and enable staff to track students' progress with greater precision.

The November/December issue of Oracle Magazine included an article about how organizations use Oracle Exadata Database Machine for increased efficiency, private cloud solutions, consolidation, and database as a service (DBaaS). The article highlights the University of Minnesota's DBaaS implementation to create its database hotel, which it developed to provide faster, more flexible, and more efficient service to all university departments. The university has two Oracle Exadata Database Machines and Oracle Real Application Clusters (Oracle RAC) for high availability. It also uses the Data Guard feature for disaster recovery capabilities. The university can now return registration results within seconds, even during peak registration periods, and through centralized IT, it enables departments to manage their own databases.

Highlighting Oracle's announcement that Miami University, a 16,000 student institution located in Oxford, Ohio that is ranked third in the nation for undergraduate teaching by U.S. News & World Report, has selected Oracle CRM On Demand to transform its outdated legacy admissions system, improve student recruitment and meet growing communication needs for departments throughout the university. The press release notes that the administration wanted a customer relationship management (CRM) system that could enhance the admissions process by effectively tracking prospective students while simultaneously expanding to meet other university needs.

The November 7 issue of The Financial includes an article announcing that University of Akron has implemented Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition and Oracle's PeopleSoft Enterprise Performance Management hosted on Oracle Cloud Solutions for Education and Research.   The article also notes that the university also deployed PeopleSoft Enterprise Performance Management solutions including Financial Analytics, Human Capital Management Warehouse and Supply Chain Analytics.  The article notes that University of Akron will leverage Oracle solutions as a part of its Vision 2020 - a strategic plan designed to grow enrollment, improve the learning experience and increase funding for student programs, faculty, research, campus and community. 

The January 11 edition of University Business include the following article announcing that Valdosta State University has seen a 10 to 15 percent improvement in student midterm and final grades since implementing Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition. The article notes that Valdosta State has improved administrative productivity by more than 500 percent with the new business intelligence environment. The article also notes that faculty can now receive important, recurring reports via email, and easily communicate with each other across campus.

The May 14 edition of The FINANCIAL includes an article highlighting Oracle's announcement that Columbus State University implemented its Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition. The article notes that Columbus State University worked with Oracle for improved reporting accuracy and timeliness to conform to Georgia's "Complete College Georgia" plan, which seeks to increase the number of Georgia's young adults who obtain a college degree. The integration of Oracle's Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition created a single knowledge repository, bringing together the university's student information system, facility management, and PeopleSoft applications.
