The July 23 edition of Campus Technology included the following article highlighting California State University San Marcos as a 2013 Innovator using Oracle as one of its solutions. The university needed a way to achieve the right balance of high enrollment and elective courses. The university's plan included Oracle's PeopleSoft ERP to leverage student data. The university also implemented Oracle's Campus Solutions Academic Advising module to initiate an analysis of aggregate course demand. The university is now planning several projects, including a roadmap students can access directly to assist them with their academic planning.

The July 23 edition of Campus Technology included the following article highlighting San Jose State University (SJSU) as a 2013 Innovator using Oracle as one of its solutions. The article notes that San Jose University wanted to be the first university to combine massive open online courses (MOOC) content with college credit. SJSU continued student registration as usual, leveraging Oracle's PeopleSoft as its student information system.

The article includes comment from Oracle customer, Marquette University in which Tara O'Neill, Associate Director of the Office of Finance and Student Financial Aid noted that if this would have happened in the mid-2000s, schools would not be able to make the proper adjustments needed. However, with technological advancements in its financial aid office, Marquette was able to notify students of possible aid changes within 30 minutes of getting word from the federal government. The article notes that Marquette uses PeopleSoft Campus Solutions Student Financing system which provides constant updates to federal rules and regulations surrounding financial aid.
