The April 30 edition of EdTech includes the following article highlighting Florida State University's (FSU) business intelligence (BI) and the increasing adoption of BI projects at institutions like FSU. The article notes that FSU's BI platform uses Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition, which was selected because it integrates with the university's PeopleSoft HR and Financial systems. FSU also invested in Oracle's BI Stack, including PeopleSoft Enterprise Performance Management and Oracle databases. The article highlights benefits the university realized, such as access to information via dashboard at any time, simplified auditing and increased staff productivity.

The November 22 edition of University Business includes the following article highlighting how improvements in business intelligence (BI) tools have given higher education leaders more data power for decision making. The article notes that Florida State moved from third-party legacy BI tools to Oracle BI Suite Enterprise Edition Plus last year to standardize on one platform. The article includes comment from Selim Burduroglu, industry architect, Oracle Education & Research, who suggests three core principles for successful BI in higher education - start simple and evolve, minimize variables and link insight to action to provide continuous institutional effectiveness.

The May 14 issue of Campus Technology includes an article highlighting Oracle's new mobile features for the PeopleSoft Campus Solutions suite. The October 2011 edition of Business Officer includes the following article highlighting the significance and uses of business intelligence (BI) in higher education. The article notes that California State University System uses Oracle Business Intelligence Suite Enterprise Edition (OBIEE) to provide more functionality, change the reporting queries and improve the look of its dashboards. The article includes comment by Amir Dabirian, vice president of IT and chief information officer, California State University, Fullerton, noting that the university's goal is to enable the institution to make data-driven decisions, particularly in tough budgetary times.
