The potential that open innovation yields for banks has been captured in a new study released by GFT, a leading international IT solutions providers to the financial sector.

Although we often shower accolades on organizations that grow their innovation advantage internally, firms that wrangle success in OI are viewed by peer organizations as leading players in their industries. Rather than indicating that internal strategies are failing, OI success now means that companies are wising up and becoming more agile.

The Business Recorder website reported that Pakistan Innovation Foundation (PIF) and Indus Motor Company (IMC) have announced the launch of National Innovation Grand Challenge (NICG) 2013-14,with objective to solve challenges of the country in areas including agriculture, energy, rural development, and manufacturing. A year-long `Open Innovation' competition, NIGC encourages Pakistani innovators, youth, students, professionals, entrepreneurs and citizens to innovate for solving country's problems.
