Social Bookmarking: Delicious Vs Diigo | Integrating Technology in the Primary Classroom - 0 views

  •
"Up until recently, I have been happily using Delicious to store, organise and share my favourite links. With the Internet Explorer Delicious add-on, I found it so simple to store sites as I browsed the net. In addition, searching Delicious for websites often gave me more reliable results than mainstream search engines. This was until my teacher friend Linda Yollis suggested I try Diigo. As a ex-Delicious user, she made the switch after discovering the impressive features that Diigo offers. After I "took the tour" of Diigo, I made the switch too."

Educational Leadership:Reading to Learn:Can't Get Kids to Read? Make It Social - 0 views

  •
"One great tool for creating social reading experiences is Diigo (www.diigo.com), a free online application that allows users to add highlights and comments onscreen to any Web-based text. These comments can be seen by anyone using Diigo and are identified with the commenter's user name. Diigo also enables users to bookmark and "tag" with keywords any online articles that they find fascinating. Classes studying topics together can share their reading. Articles tagged by one user become instantly available to another, providing a source for continued study and ongoing conversations."

Free Technology for Teachers: Organizing Research with Diigo Outliner - 0 views

  •
"the newest feature from Diigo - Outliners! Consider this challenge. Students begin researching a particular project. They gather a number of online resources, but then become quickly overwhelmed when they see the magnitude of the information absent of context. With Diigo Outliners, students can digitally organize all of their resources into an outline to later guide the creation of their final research paper or project."

When it comes to deciding how or whether to use iPads, schools typically focus on budget issues, apps, networking logistics, check-in and check-out procedures, school and district tech-use policies, hardware precautions, and aspects of classroom management. Learning Never Stops: Must See History Themed Music Videos - 0 views

  •
"The first one is about the Declaration of Independence and uses One Republic's Too Late to Apologize. The second video, which won an Emmy for Best Informational / Instructional Program in 2012, is about women's suffrage and it uses Lady Gaga's Bad Romance to tell this important story. These two music videos make great additions to any history teacher's history lesson."

Teaching and technology ~ presentations and resources for educators - 0 views

  •
"Presentation and workshop documents During the last six or so years I have created a number of 'how-to' documents and presentations for a variety of web based and related technologies. They are available from the various workshop web pages however I thought it might prove helpful to link to all the documents from a single page. Some of my workshop participants have referred to these documents as 'cheat sheets'."
