The National Collegiate Athletic Association is a member-led organization dedicated to the well-being and lifelong success of college athletes. Through its research unit, the organization conducts national research for its members on a wide variety of topics, including academic performance, student-athlete well-being, the finances of intercollegiate athletics programs, gender-equity and diversity issues, and many others.

The U.S. Embassy in Chisinau has supported numerous projects for several years to address domestic and gender-based violence. For example, local nongovernmental organizations received grants from INL to provide training for police officers, prosecutors, and judges on processing criminal cases and better assisting victims. The U.S. Embassy also organized public outreach campaigns to raise awareness about domestic and gender-based violence. To support further progress in Moldova, the U.S. Department of State has allocated $800,000 USD in FY 2017 Rule of Law Funds for a project to establish a Family Justice Center in Moldova. A Family Justice Center (FJC) is a non-residential specialized facility which co-locates inter-disciplinary services in one location for survivors of violence, trauma, and abuse. The United States Department of Justice has recognized Family Justice Centers as a best practice in meeting the needs of domestic violence and sexual assault victims. Congress recognized the importance of the Family Justice Center model by creating a "purpose area" for Family Justice Centers in the Violence against Women Act in 2005. Family Justice Centers now exist in 40 states in the U.S. and in more than 20 countries around the world. The Government of Moldova expressed interest in further cooperation on the development of a pilot Family Justice Center in Moldova.

The Public Affairs Section (PAS) of the Embassy of the United States of America in South Africa invites interested non-profit organizations, public international organizations, and private, public, or state institutions of higher education in South Africa and the United States to submit abstracts for Ambassador's Fund for Cultural Preservation projects in accordance with the specifications outlined in the full program description, which is attached to this notice (click on the "Related Documents" tab). The GriffinHarte Foundation promotes civil conversations about issues that divide us and are often contentious and difficult to sort through. Purpose of the Ambassadors Fund for Cultural Preservation (AFCP) and Background: The AFCP Large Grants Program supports the preservation of major ancient archaeological sites, historic buildings and monuments, and major museum collections that are accessible to the public and protected by law in the host country.

YSA is now accepting applications for the 2019 MLK Day of Service Grants to activate youth volunteers on MLK Day of Service weekend. Funded by the Charles Stewart Mott Foundation, these grants offer youth development organizations, community-based organizations, and schools/school districts grant funding and capacity-building training to effectively recruit and engage young people in meaningful service activities. Asking young people to volunteer for the first time on national days of service is a critical first step towards creating a culture in which all young people have the opportunity and support to find their voice, take action, and make an impact in their communities. Grantees will activate youth, ages 5-25 - 80% middle and high school age - to lead service or service-learning projects through which they can acquire 21st Century Skills (Collaboration, Communication, Creativity, and Critical Thinking).

The Unitarian Universalist Association of Congregations is accepting proposals from non-Unitarian Universalist groups in the U.S. and Canada for community organizing campaigns aimed at creating systemic change in the economic, social, and political structures that affect the lives of those who have been excluded from resources, power, and the right to determination. Through the Fund for a Just Society, UUAC supports projects that are less likely to receive conventional funding because of the innovative or challenging nature of the work or the economic and social status of the constituency. UUAC does not fund social services, educational programs, or advocacy projects. Grants are not awarded for the purposes of re-granting, equipment, capital campaigns, politically partisan efforts, educational institutions, medical or scientific research, or cultural programs. The organization will consider the funding of films, publications, or curricula if they are an integral part of a strategy of collective action for social change. UUAC does not fund individuals.

he U.S. Embassy Argentina Public Affairs Section (PAS) announces the availability of funding through its Public Diplomacy Grants Program. This Annual Program Statement outlines funding priorities, strategic themes, and procedures for submitting requests for funding. PAS will accept applications on a rolling basis until December 21, 2018. Please read and follow all of the instructions below. Purpose of Small Grants: The Grants Program supports projects proposed by U.S. and Argentine academic, cultural, educational, and other non-profit organizations and/or individuals that fulfill U.S. Embassy goals and objectives: to promote security and economic prosperity through academic and cultural initiatives seeking to promote and increase understanding between U.S. and Argentine people and institutions. The Grants Program assists Argentine organizations in carrying out programs aimed at developing communities, providing new opportunities for citizen engagement, and promoting and advancing issues of public importance.

Typically, GAWL Foundation grants range from $500 to $2000 and are best suited to smaller organizations that will benefit from grants of this scale. The Grants Committee will select grant recipients based on the guidelines below. While the guidelines are flexible, the Committee will give preference to organizations with missions that align with the following guidelines listed below in order of priority: Organizations that provide free legal services to disadvantaged women and girls. With support from the intermediary organization, school leaders will identify specific barriers to high school graduation, postsecondary enrollment, or postsecondary success, such as whether 12th grade students have submitted postsecondary applications and are on track to enroll in a postsecondary institution. To focus their work, schools will use continuous improvement methods to tackle the problem based on evidence and what they know about their students. By closely following student outcomes and the indicators that best predict whether a student will graduate high school and be successful in college, principals and teachers will know if their efforts are having the impact that they desire. And as part of a network, they'll also learn from each other about what's working and why.

Founded in 1956, the Chicago-based Graham Foundation for Advanced Studies in the Fine Arts provides project-based grants to individuals and organizations and produces public programs to foster the development and exchange of diverse and challenging ideas about architecture and its role in the arts, culture, and society.

The mission of the Milstein Medical Asian American Partnership Foundation is to improve world health by developing mutually beneficial partnerships between the United States and China, as well as greater Asia. To that end, the foundation is inviting applications from mainland China scholars and investigators for its Fellowship Award in Translational Medicine. The aim of the program is to build enduring partnership between the U.S. and Asia through the training of future Chinese academic leaders and to encourage long-term collaborations between the two regions.

The purpose of this Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) is to leverage SAMHSA funding (including TI-18-016, TI-18-015, and TI 17-014) for tribal responses to the opioid crisis by supporting culturally relevant research built upon projects supported by SAMHSA. The topic of the research project will vary depending on how funding is used in tribal communities. Potential topics include, for example, studies of evidence-based interventions adapted to enhance their feasibility, acceptability, availability and/or effectiveness in tribal communities; assessing the effectiveness of interventions with an evidence base from another population when implemented to address the opioid crisis in tribal communities; augmenting hypothesis-based data collection to inform intervention adaptation and implementation; or epidemiologic studies that assess the reach or implementation of interventions. Research supported through this FOA will be performed in two phases. The first phase (R61) will provide support for up to two years and allow for development and start up of the project including, where relevant, development and pilot testing of study elements including measurements, the study design, and/or adaption of intervention. This phase will identify and meet pre-specified milestones ensuring that the results of this phase inform and provide a foundation for the second phase of the research. Phase two (R33) is dependent upon successful completion of the R61 phase and an approved plan for the R33 phase. Phase two will provide possible funding for three years to expand to a full test of the research aims.

The NIH Research Education Program (R25) supports research education activities in the mission areas of the NIH. The over-arching goal of this NIH Blueprint R25 program is to encourage individuals from diverse backgrounds, including those from groups underrepresented in the biomedical, behavioral, and clinical research workforce, to pursue further studies or careers in research.

The Tribal Colleges and Universities Program (TCUP) provides awards to Tribal Colleges and Universities, Alaska Native-serving institutions, and Native Hawaiian-serving institutions to promote high quality science (including sociology, psychology, anthropology, economics, statistics, and other social and behavioral sciences as well as natural sciences), technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) education, research, and outreach. Support is available to TCUP-eligible institutions (see the Additional Eligibility subsection of Section IV of this solicitation) for transformative capacity-building projects through Instructional Capacity Excellence in TCUP Institutions (ICE-TI), Targeted STEM Infusion Projects (TSIP), TCU Enterprise Advancement Centers (TEA Centers), and Preparing for TCUP Implementation (Pre-TI). Collaborations that involve multiple institutions of higher education led by TCUP institutions are supported through Partnerships for Geoscience Education (PAGE) and Partnerships for Documentary Linguistics Education (PADLE). Finally, research studies that further the scholarly activity of individual faculty members are supported through Small Grants for Research (SGR) and Science Education Alliance Phage Hunters Advancing Genomics and Evolutionary Science in Tribal Colleges and Universities (SEA-PHAGES in TCUs). Through the opportunities highlighted above, as well as collaborations with other National Science Foundation (NSF) units and other organizations, TCUP aims to increase Native individuals' participation in STEM careers and improve the quality of STEM programs at TCUP-eligible institutions. TCUP strongly encourages the inclusion of activities that will benefit veterans.

The Embassy of the United States in London invites eligible organizations to submit proposals to develop and implement a 14- to 21-day group exchange program to the United States for up to 10 UK-based young leaders ages 18-5 to focus on efforts in the U .S. to counter hate crimes and build community resilience to conflict . With a strong focus on community and engagement with American interlocutors, UK participants will immerse themselves in U.S. society through discussions, dialogue groups, workshops, site visits, and professional appointments. Strictly subject to the availability of funds, the U.S. Embassy in London expects to select one program implementer for a grant award from $100,000 up to $125,000.

An initiative of the National Security Education Program, the Boren Awards provide funding for United States undergraduate and graduate students to study in regions of the world critical to U.S. interests, including Africa, Asia, Central and Eastern Europe, Eurasia, Latin America, and the Middle East. Boren scholars and fellows represent a variety of academic backgrounds but are all interested in studying less commonly taught languages, including but not limited to Arabic, Chinese, Korean, Portuguese, Russian, and Swahili.

This funding partnership between the National Science Foundation (NSF) and the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) supports projects to develop and advance knowledge concerning endangered human languages. Made urgent by the imminent death of roughly half of the approximately 7000 currently used languages, this effort aims to exploit advances in information technology to build computational infrastructure for endangered language research. The program supports projects that contribute to data management and archiving, and to the development of the next generation of researchers. Funding can support fieldwork and other activities relevant to the digital recording, documenting, and archiving of endangered languages, including the preparation of lexicons, grammars, text samples, and databases. Funding will be available in the form of one- to three-yearsenior researchgrants,fellowships from sixto twelve months, and conference proposals. Note: a conference proposal should generally be submitted at least a year in advance of the scheduled date of the conference. An individual may submit only one application for FY 2020 funding. You may not apply for both a Translation Project under this deadline (December 5, 2018) and a Literature Fellowship (in prose or poetry) under the 2019 deadline (when fellowships in prose are offered). The Arts Endowment's support of a project may begin any time between November 1, 2019, and November 1, 2020, and extend for up to two years. Grant Program Description Through fellowships to published translators, the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) supports projects for the translation of specific works of prose, poetry, or drama from other languages into English. We encourage translations of writers and of work that are not well represented in English translation. All proposed projects must be for creative translations of literary material into English. The work to be translated should be of interest for its literary excellence and value. Priority will be given to projects that involve work that has not previously been translated into English.
