    The U.S. Embassy Vientiane Public Diplomacy Section announces an open competition for organizations to submit project proposals for funding under the U.S. Embassy's 2018 Public Diplomacy Small Grants Program. This Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) solicits proposals for projects that further the U.S. Mission's public diplomacy goals of strengthening people-to-people ties between Laos and the United States, expanding educational opportunities for Lao people to better engage with the United States and ASEAN, and building and strengthening local partners through the specific objectives listed below. Proposals for projects must focus on one of the priority areas specified below. Applicants should pay close attention to the Public Diplomacy Section's goals, priority program objectives, and target audiences when developing their proposals. Funding Opportunities include: Public Diplomacy Goals Education Inclusiveness and support issues related to: women, disabled persons, LGBT rights, ethnic minorities, other marginalized and stigmatized groups such as victims of human trafficking, underprivileged youth, or religious minorities. Promoting fundamental American values: promoting freedom of expression, press, association, and religion through public dialogue and events, cultural performances, the arts. Supporting Her Empowerment via Digital Tools - 0 views

    NIO-PAS seeks proposals for a project entitled "Supporting Her Empowerment via Digital Tools." Based on funding availability, this project will build capacity of women artisans by harnessing their entrepreneurial and innovative spirits and empowering them with digital tools to grow further. Under this program, the grantee will organize and implement three 2-day workshops on "Digital Strategies for Business" in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh; Jaipur, Rajasthan; and Ludhiana, Punjab for a minimum of ten and a maximum of 15 CSO/NGO representatives in each program city. The workshops should include hands-on training that will teach participants in each city how to use commercially-available technology to sell art and/or related products online. The workshops should also include a "train-the-trainer" teaching methodology to allow participants to share their new skills with women artisans from far-flung and rural areas, and within their communities. Each participant must produce an initial idea to execute by the end of the workshops.

    The Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA) will provide Federal assistance to support innovative projects seeking to promote and ensure the inclusion and use of minority enterprises. This Announcement is a mechanism to encourage new activities, education, outreach, innovative projects or sponsorships that are not addressed through other MBDA programs. MBDA has established key priorities designed to overcome the unique challenges faced by minority business enterprises (MBEs). MBDA is now initiating new approaches to serve MBEs that compliment Presidential priorities and U.S. Department of Commerce goals.
