Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative (YSEALI) Academic Fellowship - 0 views

    The Study of the U. S. Branch (ECA/A/E/USS), Office of Academic Exchange Programs, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA), invites proposal submissions from accredited U.S. post-secondary education institutions (community colleges, liberal arts colleges, public and private universities); U.S. public and private non-profit organizations; or consortia of organizations meeting the provisions described in Internal Revenue Code section 26 USC 501(c)(3) (see section C. Eligibility Information in the Notice of Funding Opportunity) for the design and implementation of twelve (12) Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative (YSEALI) Academic Fellowship Institutes. The Institutes should take place in the fall of 2018 and spring of 2019, pending the availability of FY 2018 funds. The YSEALI Academic Fellowship will provide up to approximately 250 undergraduate and recent graduates from throughout Southeast Asia with a foundation in one of three themes: Civic Engagement, Environmental Issues and Natural Resource Management, and Social Entrepreneurship and Economic Development. More information on the themes can be found in A.2. Institute Themes, in the Notice of Funding Opportunity. It is ECA's intent to award up to three Cooperative Agreements for the administration of up to twelve FY 2018 YSEALI Academic Fellowship Institutes.

Women for Women: Supporting Each Other to Build Sustainable Careers - 0 views

    The Public Affairs Section of the U.S. Consulate in Kolkata (PAS Kolkata) seeks proposals for a project entitled "Women for Women: Supporting Each Other to Build Sustainable Careers." Under this project, a grantee will partner with PAS Kolkata to host weekly mentoring workshops at the American Center for 20 women between the ages of 20-25 pursuing undergraduate studies in STEM fields in Kolkata who have little to no exposure to the U.S and the American higher education system. The workshops will be conducted by four experts, preferably female alumni of USG programs, who have built successful careers. In addition, each woman will participate in 12 one-on-one virtual exchange sessions with a current STEM student studying in a U.S. university, preferably EducationUSA alumni or STEM Fulbright Fellow. The findings from the virtual exchanges will be incorporated into the workshop to achieve a global perspective of working women professionals.     The Security and Preparedness (SAP) Programsupports basic scientific research that advances knowledge and understanding of issues broadly related to global and national security. Research proposals are evaluated on the criteria of intellectual merit and broader impacts; the proposed projects are expected to be theoretically motivated, conceptually precise, methodologically rigorous, and empirically oriented. Substantive areas include (but are not limited to) international relations, global and national security, human security,political violence, state stability, conflict processes, regime transition, international and comparative political economy, and peace science. Moreover, the Program supports research experiences for undergraduate students and infrastructural activities, including methodological innovations. The Program does not fund applied research.     The International Research Experiences for Students (IRES) program supports development of globally-engaged U.S. science and engineering students capable of performing in an international research environment at the forefront of science and engineering. The IRES program supports active research participation by students enrolled as undergraduates or graduate students in any of the areas of research funded by the National Science Foundation. IRES projects involve students in meaningful ways in ongoing research programs or in research projects specifically designed for the IRES program.
