Viral Hepatitis Networking, Capacity Building, and Training - 0 views

    This FOA aims to increase testing of populations most affected by chronic hepatitis B and/or hepatitis C; and training of health care providers. Part A is Networking & Capacity Building and Part B is Professional Education & Training. Part A strategies & activities should focus on leading and growing an existing national coalition that is geographically diverse, is in at least different 10 states; and whose members are actively involved in viral hepatitis. The aim is to share strategies, materials, and lessons learned among coalition members; provide technical assistance to conduct culturally competent educational outreach; build the capacity to test the target populations for chronic viral hepatitis; and engage members in implementing CDC’s national viral hepatitis educational campaign(s).Outcomes for Part A are: increased number and capacity of coalition members to deliver culturally competent educational outreach to target population; increased numbers of individuals tested for chronic viral hepatitis; and increased exposure to CDC’s national education campaign. Part B activities are: developing free, accurate, up-to-date, CE-accredited comprehensive web-based, on-demand hepatitis materials, resources and trainings for health care professionals. The outcomes for part B are increasing the knowledge and skills of health care professionals, including the ability to screen, diagnose, medically manage, and provide care to people with chronic viral hepatitis.

    PART A -- Core Curricular Enhancements Strategic Direction A2 -- Promote educational enhancements that include transdisciplinary and interprofessional population health training Activity I: Medical Assistants Resources and Training on Immunization (MARTi) MARTi is a website http://www.marti-us.org/ hosted and updated by the Association for Prevention Teaching and Research (APTR). MARTi was developed to provide a collection of immunization training, education, and resource materials for medical assistants and those responsible for their training, such as office managers or supervisors. The website provides reviewed and credible training and education programs and resources specifically developed for the education and reading level of medical assistants. Activities will include the following: --Manage and update the website content and resources as new vaccine recommendations and best practices become available and redesign the navigation of the website to feature resources offering continuing education (CE) credits --Create newsletters and social media announcements --Develop responsive design website to provide access through mobile devices --Assemble a committee of experts to advance use of the website and recommend improvements. Committee will convene via conference call (3 or 4 times a year). The committee will consist of key groups including the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) and the Professional Association of Healthcare Organization Management (PACHOM) as well as post-secondary institutions training future medical assistants. CDC will not direct or manage any aspects of the committee.

Maternal and Child Health (MCH) Nutrition Training Program - 0 views

    This notice solicits applications for the Maternal and Child Health (MCH) Nutrition Training Program. The Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) will award funds to establish and enhance nutrition centers of excellence to improve access to comprehensive, community-based, nutrition-centered, and culturally competent coordinated care by increasing the availability of practitioners trained in MCH nutrition that are able to meet the needs of MCH populations. The program improves access to quality health care by (1) providing MCH nutrition professionals with interdisciplinary graduate education and training with a public health focus and emphasis on MCH populations and services - education and training designed to improve workforce capacity and foster leadership in program development and administration, systems integration, education, and nutrition services; (2) developing and disseminating curricula, teaching models, and other educational resources to enhance MCH nutrition programs; and (3) providing continuing education, consultation and technical assistance to local, state, and national organizations serving MCH populations while working in collaboration with State Title V and other MCH programs in order to address the needs of the MCH community.

In an effort to educate students about the risks involved with the misuse of alcohol, the NCAA has developed the NCAA CHOICES Grant Program, through the support of the Anheuser-Busch Foundation. The NCAA CHOICES Alcohol Education Grant Program provides funding for NCAA member institutions and conferences to integrate athletics departments into campus-wide efforts to reduce alcohol abuse.     CDC announces supplemental funding for organizations that previously were awarded funding under the Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) CDC-RFA-OE-17-1701. The purpose of his supplemental NOFO is to further strengthen the nation's capacity to carry out public health activities in the area of primary immunodeficiency diseases (PID) to widen the scope of the current grant, increase and improve physician education and public health awareness for/of PID. The intent is to increase the scope of the campaign to disseminate educational information on a national level to health care providers, educators, third-party payers, impacted families, and others who may help expedite clinical recognition and improve health outcomes for Americans with primary immunodeficiency diseases. The intended outcomes of this supplemental grant include increase in scope, in direct scale to conduct the following activities: - Development of materials and implementation of displays - Providers engage in education opportunities - Skills and knowledge of health care providers about primary immunodeficiency diseases increases - Improve integration of primary immunodeficiency diseases prevention into clinical care - Expedited clinical recognition of primary immunodeficiency diseases - Increase community and provider knowledge of primary immunodeficiency diseases - Increase the number of people appropriately diagnosed with primary immunodeficiency diseases - Increase access to care for people with primary immunodeficiency diseases.
